Shoes+Sale=Youbetcha! LOL Poor me I could probably only go one month without wearing the same pair twice. Funny thing is I probably only wear 4 pair regularly!

Down in Newport last week we were watching a seagull trying to break into a starfish. It'd pick it up and drop it, and then peck and pull at it, doing it over and over again. I was admiring its persistance for this delicacy when a woman came up and asked me what was happening. I explained it and watching it, she said, "interesting," as it picked it up and flung it hard to the ground and pecked at it. After a moment, she screamed, "I don't want to look at that!" and ran away. I was like this:

LOL! Some people just don't need to be around nature. She was probably some environmentalist whacko, too. Lady just stay in your house with the covers pulled up over your head. Sheesh!

Is Newport a good place to walk the beach? Don't laugh--I live 500 miles from any kind of beach except the sandhills 30 miles away.....sort of a desert beach without water.

Greetings, FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!

Reporting in Drive-by Mode from the belly of the beast in Iraq, it’s Day 238 of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure!

And, it's with great glee and hand-springs and WOO-HOO's, that Sarge returns to the Canteen, and to serious writing again. The business of our hunting trip has been keeping Sarge away from the simple pleasures of writing to y'all.

First a tremendous event - my father, MY VERY OWN FATHER, has joined Free Republic at last! I give and bid welcome to our newest member, Skyraider, who is none other than Pop himself!!!!!

Pop is a Korean War Navy vet, as most of you already know - USS Essex, CV-9.

And ather personal WOO-HOO! to our sister, Trussell, on her good news as well - it's about time that good things started happening to you and the kids!

Well, the news from theater is that the 2nd ID guys and gals we replaced are finally on their long journey home. And Sarge, the Kids of The Company, and the rest of the Guardsmen are on station in Ramadi. Yes, we can talk about that now. Living here in the rich bottom lands of the Euphrates, there's green and growing things among the desert sands, and trees, and crops - it's much like America's desert Southwest, in many ways, pretty in its own right. Now picture a red sunset, dust in the air, and Sarge on his restored bike, pedalling off to war....

The living quarters are taking shape, under the watchful eyes f the Blue-eyed Devil and his sidekick, Cookie. Cookie and his mechanics are working double-shift to keep things running, and it's paying off in little amenities. And each troop is putting a personal stamp on things, as well... looks interesting at times...

And a persnal note, to all that Proud Patriot crowd: you all can't know what effect you people have had on morale here - it jumps 50 points, just for Mail Call alone. Such a boost is well-needed, and you folks delivered. Well Done!

Well, that’s all we’ve got for now, but Sarge will report in soon, so Until Next Time!

SARGE

DISCLAIMER: If you wish to be on/off Sarge's Daily Report, FReepmail with details!

Hi, MoJo. I need some help from the Canteen. I have verified that this is a real photo - not photoshopped. The soldier is crossing his fingers because he was forced to pose with Hillary. He is no longer in the military. We really want him on camera for our Hillary Clinton documentary telling his story.

HERE IS HIS PROFILE FROM YAHOO PERSONALS. If any of you belong to this, I would greatly appreciate it if you would get a message to him.

Looking, but not desperate

Age: 32; Clear Lake City, TX
Active during the last 3 days

About Me
Gender: Man seeking a Woman

Marital Status: Single - never married

Body Type: Athletic

Height: 6' 1"

Eyes: Green

Hair: I'll tell you later

Ethnicity: Caucasian (white)

Sense of Humor: Friendly, Dry / Sarcastic

Social Setting: Shy at first, but warm up quickly

TV Watching: Sports Nut, Documentaries, Channel Hopper

Smoking: Doesn't smoke

Drinking: Drinks socially

Living Situation: With roommate(s)

Have Kids: No

Want (more) kids: Yes

Education: I'll tell you later

Employment Status: Full-time

Occupation: Politics / Government / Military

Income: $75,000 to $99,999

Religion: Spiritual but not religious

Attend Services: Rarely

Political Views: Conservative

Astrology: Pisces

Languages: English, Spanish

Interests: Outdoor Activities, Cooking

In my own words

Wow. Scary stuff, trying to describe myself. Well, for starters I was recently discharged from the Army and moved back to Houston. I am looking for new, interesting people to meet but to describe my perfect match would be difficult. I have no perfect picture in my head, but I will know it when I see or find it. Hopefully my match will have similar interests and can actually have a smart and real conversation about current events. The picture of me and Hillary Clinton was taken when she came to visit Iraq. I was actually ordered to shake her hand, and I never figured that my friends would circulate it all over the net. I AM NOT a Hillary fan by any stretch.
