LONDON, Ohio -- Police said they arrested a man this week on public indecency and parole violation charges after he allegedly tried to lure girls, including an 11-year-old, inside a Wal-Mart store.
"I walked around the corner and there was this guy standing there, looking at me, and the next thing I know he exposed himself," said the girl.
Steven Wayne George allegedly zeroed in on the girl when she was steps away from her mother on her way to a dressing room, NBC 4's Monique Ming Laven reported.
The girl said she immediately ran to her mother.
"I was shocked because he kept staring at us and I always thought that somebody that would commit a crime would run," the girl's mother said.
"It just grossed me out," the girl said. "How could you do that to me and then just stare?"
George stuck around at the Lafayette Street Wal-Mart store and was arrested, Laven reported.
It turned out that George was on parole. The registered, habitual sex offender was convicted of gross sexual imposition with a minor in 1990 and 1996, Laven reported.
"I'm mad because he's able to continue to be walking the streets," the girl's mother said.
George was jailed on public indecency and parole violation charges but the girl said she does not quite feel safe.
"My mom woke me up several times in the night because I was jumping and kicking in my bed," the girl said.
Two teenagers said George was lingering in the girls' department of the store and tried to approach them but they got away.
The victim's mother said she hates to think of what he had in mind for any of the girls and she hopes any others he may have targeted would come forward.
That name again.
All the cat can say, is round up all the middlenamed 'Waynes', ship them off to the Devil's Island and the nation's crime problem will be half or more solved!
The only condition of parole, is that he has to come here to Nashville and pay me a visit.
Nabbed at Wal-Mart, no less.
Was he reading the cliche ridden Hairy Potty book when they grabbed him? That would have been too perfect!
I wish the liberals would stop trying to protect these animals.
I bet if some guy attacked their daughter they would change their tune.
The facial expressions on the mug shots always amaze me, you never see any signs of shame, guilt, or embarrassment, just defiance.
Never trust a man with no last name.
I read in a recent post about how many felons have the middle name "Wayne". Does anyone have a link to the comments or a link to the list of names?

A registered sex offender who recently sold his house and disappeared has been found, police said Wednesday.
Paul Knutson, 44, was arrested around 3 p.m. in Fridley and taken to the Hennepin County Jail.
Knutson had sold his house in Minneapolis and failed to register a new address with authorities, said Jon Hinchliff, sexual offender notification coordinator for the Minneapolis Police Sex Crimes Unit.
Police had last had contact with Knutson about two months ago and Hinchliff said they considered his disappearance "a matter of great concern. ... He used brutal force in attacking his victims.''
Knutson was convicted of three rapes, two in Brooklyn Park in 1986 and one in Anoka County in 1989, authorities aid.
He is classified as a Level 3 offender, the type deemed most likely to re-offend. © Copyright 2005 Star Tribune. All rights reserved.
Had my child run up to me with that story I would have hunted the P.O.S. through the aisles, and he'd have been carried out on a stretcher.
Monique Ming Laven?
Simple. It's a dynasty.
I would not expect anything less from you. :)
Easy now, disgusting kitty - my husband's middle name is Wayne.
I would not expect anything less from you. :)
Sorry to hear that. When is he due for parole?
Any day now . . his only crime is that he's so darn handsome.
'Course there are always exceptions to the rule like one musical criminal with the first name Wayne!
