Another case study for our annals of hypocrisy.

The administration tried to correct the media and prevent them from spreading Joe Wilson's propaganda as truth, and look where it got Karl Rove...

"How is it possible for such an intellect to not see the parallels to what Rove has been accused of doing? Rove apparently warned Matt Cooper of Time Magazine "not to get too far out" on the Joe Wilson story."
That would assume that the 'Rats and MSM care about honesty or consistency. Actually, Olbermann's position amounts to "save us from ourselves when we need you to, but we'll fry your a--es anyway if we feel like it."

Compare and contrast:
"The news organization turns to the administration for a denial. The administration says nothing. The news organization runs the story. The administration jumps on the necks of the news organization with both feet or has its proxies do it for them.
That's beyond shameful. It's treasonous."
In his first conversation with the president's senior adviser as the new White House correspondent for Time, Cooper started with a clipped statement: "I am writing about Wilson," to which Rove replied: "Don't get too far out on Wilson."

If the Bush administration would have said a thing, the MSM would have cried "cover-up" or "sensorship."
Same, irresponsible media.
When in doubt, blame someone else.

The media has no use for the wisdom of the words "don't bite the hand that feeds you".

Now that has got to be the lamest leap to a most illogical conclusion that I have seen on this subject. Reminds me of the Agony of Defeat ski jumper. This could end up on a compilation video When Media Guys Go Wild.

It could only be considered treason if one's loyalty was owed to the media, rather than to the country.

It's the responsibility of the media to get it right.
It's not the responsibility of the Administration to prove them wrong. These people have important work to do for the American people -- instead of just making up stories to call attention to their imagined audience and ruthless ambitions to get to the top in the news/show business.

Then Olbermann will come out strongly for Rove today, correct?
Didn't think so.
Last time the administration told them to be careful they accused the Government of attempting to run their business. They erupted in hysterics, then spent months trying to prove we did flush a Koran down a toliet out of spite.
Olbermann, It is YOUR job to make sure your stories are truthful. It's the administration's job to defend this country. They aren't getting paid to be your editors so sit down, shut up, and learn how to do your job responsibly without malice instead of wasting your time being the puppet of loons that want the election results challenged because they cannot accept reality.
The administration jumps on the necks of the news organization with both feet or has its proxies do it for them.
We're proxies now!
To: Sam Hill
Weren't those members of the military or the government with whom Newsweek vetted the plausibility of its item, honor-bound to say "you can't print this"? What an idiot.
I can just imagine the liberal MSM's response if the Bush administration tells them "you can't print this".
