More questions than answers (Keith Olbermann)
[W]eren't those members of the military or the government with whom Newsweek vetted the plausibility of its item, honor-bound to say "you can't print this"?
Or would somebody rather play politics with this? The way Craig Crawford reconstructed it, this one went similarly to the way the Killian Memos story evolved at the White House. The news organization turns to the administration for a denial. The administration says nothing. The news organization runs the story. The administration jumps on the necks of the news organization with both feet or has its proxies do it for them.
That's beyond shameful. It's treasonous.

How is it possible for such an intellect to not see the parallels to what Rove has been accused of doing? Rove apparently warned Matt Cooper of Time Magazine "not to get too far out" on the Joe Wilson story.
Why is Olbermann calling for Rove's head? Is it simply because that's what he is told to say by the DNC?

It's the responsibility of the media to get it right.
It's not the responsibility of the Administration to prove them wrong. These people have important work to do for the American people -- instead of just making up stories to call attention to their imagined audience and ruthless ambitions to get to the top in the news/show business.
Excellent point. It's a no-win situation: they "fail" to correct the media, and they're condoning misinformation getting out; they try to correct the media, and it's manipulation of the press. I have an idea: how about the media actually acting responsibly in its research and reporting of news stories?
LOL....that hissing sound isn't Olbermann passing gas; it's Olbermann's head deflating.
Listen carefully Olberman...
You are a S P O R T S guy...always will be.
>>The administration tried to correct the media and prevent them from spreading Joe Wilson's propaganda as truth, and look where it got Karl Rove...<<
Everything is O.K. as long as he did not break the law. Nothing has actually happened to him.
If we all believe that Karl Rove is an example of the right thing to do then, the Koran story should have been corrected before being printed. Newsweek was supposed to be aware of the implications of the story before they printed it and I would think the same would be expected of those in the military/government that were asked to verify the story.
Should people not do the right thing because they are afraid of the consequences?
Didn't think so.
Last time the administration told them to be careful they accused the Government of attempting to run their business. They erupted in hysterics, then spent months trying to prove we did flush a Koran down a toliet out of spite.
Olbermann, It is YOUR job to make sure your stories are truthful. It's the administration's job to defend this country. They aren't getting paid to be your editors so sit down, shut up, and learn how to do your job responsibly without malice instead of wasting your time being the puppet of loons that want the election results challenged because they cannot accept reality.
The administration jumps on the necks of the news organization with both feet or has its proxies do it for them.
We're proxies now!
And, a poor one at that! Why do you think ESPN fired him?
What an idiot.
I can just imagine the liberal MSM's response if the Bush administration tells them "you can't print this".
Republican administrations have been shooting down erroneous media stories for years now and the "professionals" just ignore them and keep on lying.
This a-hole was and is an embarassment for ESPN and the country in general. Totally clueless. Nice ratings! NOT!

Wilson revealed (Keith Olbermann)
In his story guidance to Matthew Cooper of Time, Rove did more damage to your safety than the most thumb-sucking liberal or guard at Abu Ghraib. He destroyed an intelligence asset like Valerie Plame merely to deflect criticism of a politician. We have all the damned politicians, of every stripe, that we need. The best of them isnt worth half a Valerie Plame. And if the particular politician for whom Rove was deflecting, President Bush, is more than just all hat and no cattle on terrorism, he needs to banish Rove and loudly.
Lmao...true that.
Olbermann, (ring in music)...which story will American hear me Frick up tonight..."
keeth olderman...BORING and SHOW OFF.
If he did, he'd soon explode. He has a very fertile mind, if you know what I mean... ;)
And so it was "treasonous" for Karl Rove to correct Matt Cooper? Oh that's right. He's supposed to go to jail for that...
You think they really believe their own craziness?
It's a woman's perogative to change her mind:

Oh, I love this...
This moron is now saying that the Bush administration needs to tell the media what it can and can't print...
Right....
Mark
A great example of why the majority of the electorate thinks that liberals have no values.
