Commander-in-Chief, ABC Drama with Geena Davis as President
ABC TV ^ | 07/28/05 | Soliton

Posted on 07/28/2005 12:41:13 PM PDT by Soliton

I just read the plot of this new show and watched the three clips on the site.

Hollywierd has made the first woman President a Republican! But,of course, the evil Republican Party doesn't want her to take the job because SHE IS A WOMAN! You see she was VP when the Pres dies, but the evil Republican politicos want her to step down so Donald Southerland (M.A.S.H.), the whitest old guy imagineable, can have the job.

Meanwhile, Davis is the greatest mom in the world with three kids and just wants to be taken seriously.

HILLARY ALERT!

Media is "normalizing" the idea of a woman President so that Hillary will be more acceptable to the American people.

Not that there is anything wrong with a qualified woman being President. Mrs Thatcher proved that a while back.

BTW Hillary is a long way away from Geena Davis.

Condi for POTUS anyone?

I think I saw she is not a Republican but an independent. Dems and libs trying to be non-political will always end up being one tiny step back from as far left as you can go, and call it moderate.

They should just have the characters be completly liberal and be done with it, as that will be their only audience anyway.

Try this from a critique on his movie "The Contender".

"Lurie is clearly mesmerized by the power wielded by the Washington elite. The production notes hint at the extent of the collaboration between the film's creators and the Clinton administration: “The filmmakers were extremely grateful to the White House, which gave them access to the Oval Office itself, as well as the mansion and grounds.”

I was actually part of the test audience for this thing about two years back. I thought it was a nifty idea for a TV series. I wonder why it took so long to get it into production.

My prediction, having seen the comercials, is: Cancelled during first season, after pilot episodes air and before a full first season is even on film.

When Liberals Rule the Earth: this is a west-wing clone and in four weeks the evil Republicans and big businessmen will be obvious, as will the hard working, well intentioned democrats - and Madam President will save the day. Could have a run time of two seasons, if they lay off the partisan crap for the first half season.

Because John Kerry wasn't a woman?

Smells like Hitlery hype to me. I'll pass on it and do something important, like clean my guns.

Single mom?

Odds are she will be single. Isn't this normally how it's done in tee vee world? Don't you get it? Kids don't need a dad to be normal and well adjusted - all they need is a mom who is never home except during the evening meal or once in a while when the kid does something cute. If you want to see a dad as a parent you have to watch some sit-coms to how bufoonish it is to be a dad. Haw haw. But on a serious tee vee drama like this, come on...

I think that this idea came along too late on the 'West Wing' upswing of popularity and success. If this had been developed in time for the 2000 election, it might have found its niche.

As it stands, Gina Davis has almost no star power and can't carry a project for long.

It's time has passed. I expect it to be cancelled after two seasons (the network won't bail on it quickly, but viewers will diminish by the week, on balance).

That very well might be true, but it's probably only secondary to the paving-the-way-for-Hitlery scenario.

Minutes for a Sept. 11, 1970, meeting of the VVAW reveal a plan to "coordinate with Jane Fonda's speaking tour," says Novak. She and actor Donald Sutherland, who was also on hand for Valley Forge, had dubbed their road show the "F*** the Army" tour, according to several books chronicling the anti-war movement.

Tidbit: Donald Sutherland was in a movie a while back. I believe the screenwriter was Peter GRUNWALD, the brother of Mandy Grunwald.

Mandy is the best friend of Hillary and her MEDIA ADVISOR. Mandy is married to...to...Matt Cooper!! Imagine that!!

P.S. Hillary even gave Mandy a baby shower at the Whitehouse in 1998.
