Maybe Jane Fonda and Babs can organize a world protest tour.
You mean to tell me this isn't George Bush's fault? Come on now!
Not surprising if you think about it. Women have to be covered from head to toe under Islam. Hair cannot be shown, so what is the point of hairdressers for women? Men do not have to keep their hair covered. Therefore, men are the only potential clients of a hairdresser. Since it is forbidden in Islam for a woman to touch a non-relative male, only men can be hairdressers.
That religion will probably condemn this man to a quick death for the murder. There won't be 14 years of appeals. He'll be dead within the month.
PING
I don't agree. I think they will find that his first wife should be killed in order to restore honor to the husband. They will execute the first wife and let the husband go.
Just be glad that our culture has grown out of the Christian "wife as property" "females are inferior" mentality. While the Quran does have many protections for women in it, and exalts them in many cases, it's still behind modern Western culture, and most of Islam follows it to the letter.
It's time for that religion to grow up before it pisses us off too much.
They would? Show me where it says that.
You may not believe it, but under the burkha, those women are usually made up pretty nice -- makeup, jewelry, hair, nice dress, etc. Their view is that their beauty is only for their husband to see.
But not all Muslims do that. You'll see head-to-toe, eyes behind screens, all the way to modern Western dress. Wanna play "Spot the Muslim"?
Answer: Both.
Amen!
LMAO - that is cute!
Way to go. Thanks for the link.
Ah! Life in the Caliphate.
Would make a great SitCom if it weren't so tragic and so much of a threat.
The Arabs are really having a tough time with their AIDS epidemic.
I'm confused. Whose hair does this guy do all day? Other men's wives? But they are supposed to keep their hair covered by hijab.
So does he do men's hair? But then wouldn't he be a barber? Or does a barber have to be licensed to do bloodletting and circumcisions?
One source shows him as 'barber'. I guess hairdresser is more PC.
It would - if not for the loss of life - and would be featured in the "Afghan TV Guide" we had on FR a few years ago.
The farthest I go with the women in my life is to give them a sound 5 minute spanking if they have been too bad...
...or a sound 10 minute spanking if they have been too good. ;-)
Does anyone know if there are such things as psychiatrists in the Middle East? Seriously- are there? And if they are, what kinds of behaviors do they treat as 'abnormal', I'd really like to know.
The entire SOCIETY is so psychologically aberrant as a NORM that I wonder if ANYTHING is considered mental illness there!
