Tough Duck -Same Lame Plame Dame Blame Game
ABC News - The Note ^ | 07/28/2005 | MARK HALPERIN et al

Posted on 07/28/2005 8:30:34 AM PDT by jhouston

If the Bush White House weren't so completely distracted by the Wilson leak investigation, perhaps the President would be able to actually get something done — besides sign CAFTA, the highway bill, and the energy bill into law; read all the improving economic figures; celebrate his still-bullet-proof Supreme Court nomination; and continue along semi-stealthily on 2006 fundraising and candidate recruitment.

And if the Democrats weren't so sure that a one-sentence party platform ("Karl Rove should be in jail.") was a sure winner, perhaps they would Notice that the Republican majority is likely to get at least some credit with voters for passing these laws; that the Bill Clinton Democratic Party of free trade just might have been dead and buried shortly after midnight; and that the AFL thing — along with the America Coming Together thing, along with the DNC thing — leaves the party with some serious money and organization questions.

ABC has a pretty good read on "mainstream" thinking in this piece.

Not your usual Bash Bush crap from ABC.

Well at least they didn't put in some more bomb photos for wanna be terrorists to peruse.

Got to remember, this is an ABC blog, not ABC news. They often have good stories, the rest of the site is crap.

We here on this forum all know that the Rove controversy is only the libs grasping at straws, trying desperately to find anything that will "get Bush" so they can get back in power.
Does the rest of the country see it that way?

Which gives insight into what might yet be if journalists stick to reporting the facts instead of proselytizing. Many of them have real talent and could be so much more than mere partisan hacks. There's no reason why ABC's entire news site can't be up to the same standards as the Note.

Last time I heard from HALPERIN he wrote the memo to go easy on Kerry, hard on Bush, released right before the debate that was hosted by an ABC representative.

I am amused that only two months ago they labeled Bush a Lame Duck. Now they are acknowledging that for the joke it was.

I love saying, "I told you so". This President with his commanding support among his own base will not be a lame duck the entire four years of his term so long as he maintains his high support. Only he, or the base, have the power to take him down. NOT the MSM. Not the Democrats. As elections are approaching for '06 even the Senators are starting to catch a clue they need him for re-election in the majority of states.

One mistake the media (and their democrat party cohorts) make is to evaluate low Bush poll numbers as high democrat election potential. I think a lot of the low poll numbers reflect a frustration with Bush for not being more conservative.

Rove appears to be a favorite subject of only the most rabid Bush haters.

My ISP homepage has ABCNews as the news block. Up until the Sandra Day O'Connor retirement, there was reliably one article related to Abortion issues on their top five stories each morning, that I was in the habit of posting as a new thread. I did this, pretty much every weekday morning, for three months in a row, and ABCNews never missed a day.

Since O'Connor retired, there has not be one single story related to Abortion issues on the ABCNews posted to that home-page. Not in the Top Five, not in the Top 30. It is like ABCNews has stopped talking about the subject entirely.

Wierd.

It almost seems that they have finally figured out that the tide has turned, and they better go along, or drown.

I am always amazed at the imagination of lefties with their conspiracy theories about Karl Rove and Dubya. I and the rest of the cast made fun of that fact in the audio at http://www.imaopodcast.com/podcast/IMAO-July25.mp3

Requires speakers on your computer and is safe for work... unless you work with a bunch of liberals— they will be extremely offended)

Did anyone send Valerie Plame a soap on a rope?

Or is she expected to take jail like the MSM expects us to take their reporting of the news?

Mark Halperin once in awhile thinks outside the Beltway box, which a trait not usually seen in Washington.

While the Democrats and the media are obsessed with Karl Rove, they have stopped, albeit only temporarily, their relentless and daily bashing of the troops and their efforts.
Karl Rove has taken the hits and given the troops, especially those in Iraq, some breathing room.
Thanks Karl.

Thanks for the skit! I always knew there was some strategery at play in the Roberts saga.

And that phone bit reminds me of my own exploits at work. I'm not good with phones, either. It seems I can't remember 2 names at once--I either know who I'm talking to or who they want to talk to, but never both at the same time. It's a recipe for debacle casserole (did I just write that?!).
