Conservatives are always talking about a "fair profit"...It's time they also talked about a "fair wage"....

1. Read my tagline. My daddy said it to me when I was 6.

2. There are plenty of people over at DU who frequently use the term "fair wage." May I also recommend the works of Michael Moore to you.

How true it is. For Laura or some other young person with cancer..its a tough deal.

How does the government come into it? If I make more money than you...good for me and tough for you. Thats life. If on the other hand I steal your money, the government steps in....THAT ain't 'fair'.

The government IMO is a referee in a football game who enforces 'fairness' by enforcing rules and hence your rights to win or lose in a 'fair' contest...may the best man win.

Where it gets interesting is in the definition of 'steal'. Theres lots of ways of taking money out of one persons pocket and putting it your pocket...without hitting them over the head.

If you're clever...you simply withhold the money from them before it even reaches their pocket. The government may have a say in how you operate your business for example.

The issues of 'fairness' and 'level playing field' are subtle concepts IMO.
