In a 98-0 vote, the Senate approved the provision continuing the hosting of Boy Scout events as part of massive bill setting Defense Department policy for next year. After the vote, Senate leaders decided to put off further debate and votes on the overall bill, probably until fall when Congress returns from a monthlong break.

It does show how far the ACLU is off base. However i will believe they are going down when I see a 98-0 vote on not paying these ACLU bastids with our money.

Since the ACLU if government funded, I suspect they (the gov) are getting a little testy over the pettiness of the ACLU - let us hope this trend continues!

This is fantastic news. I'm surprised the vote was 98-0, but delighted.

The vote was 98 -0.

But didn't the democrats boo the Boy Scouts at one of their conventions a few years back?

I guess they are starting to feel the silent majority backlash, big time.

It must have darned near killed her to vote aye. But she knew it would make a great GOP commercial in '06 and '08 if she'd voted no.

It is time for the Congress to shut down all payments to the ACLU Horror show.

Let them work for their fees and get them of the Public Teat.

"Senate Backs Scouts' Use of Military Bases ...

Even Barbara Butthead Boxer of my home state wouldn't dare vote against the Boy Scouts in public. Even the addle-brained liberals in SF, and the plethora of minority voters in LA, know that the Boy Scouts are a good force and would boot out a Senator that votes against them

That's why liberals let organizations like the ACLU, and liberal judges, do their dirty work.

So did my senator Barbara Boxer. Even she knows the SF libs and LA minorities would kick her butt out of office for opposing the Boy Scouts. That's why liberals let the ACLU and liberal judges do their dirty work for them.
