President Bush went to Capitol Hill this morning, accompanied by Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, to meet with and speak to the House Republican Conference and discuss issues and encourage support for CAFTA. Later he welcomed March of Dimes National Ambassador, Navy Anderson of Logan, Utah in the Oval Office, and then greeted the 2005 Boys and Girls Senators in the East Room. The Senators were selected to represent their states by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary. Tonight the President will be traveling to Ft. A.P. Hill in Virginia to address the Boy Scout Jamboree meeting there, to voice his support of the Scouts, and his thoughts and prayers for the families of the leaders who were killed yesterday.
ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!
Oh, gosh I don't know about nightengales....
BUT, when I was growing up in Colorado...we didn't have air conditioning so we slept with windows open in summer...every morning I would hear a "finch" sing, a very distinctive "song"....and they don't have those birds here in Texas...I miss that sound so much!
I think I will echo what you said about heaven, for my finch songs...
But he has the Lord to lift him up, and a wonderful wife to support him every single day.
And when he gets to his beloved ranch........with his Lord, and his bride.......he'll be just fine. :)
That's such a great expression on his face of the joy of eating ice cream. I LOVE that pic!
Down from Lake Erie for a visit, I guess. ;)
There is a thread up re Ann Coulter's comment.
This is great.

I agree IMHO the photos that we have seen recently have been the few brief minutes when the enormity of his responsibility and concern for the American people catches up with him as it must do from time to time especially when one hears of terrorist attacks worldwide it is only human nature to think are we next? Also he has privileged information that must from time to time give him worry
I understand what you said about the "finch" song. I would go into a terminal slump if I couldn't hear robins sing on a summer morning. Of course, 4:30 a.m. is a bit early and those robins act as though they have a duty to wake up all the other birds and ME. LOL I've often wondered what they're saying to each other. I read the other day that chickadees have something like 16 distinct calls. I think I've heard them all.

aww you're gonna make me cry! That was sweet what you said. I love that man more and more each day. I love that he's a strong Christian, I love that he's madly in love with his wife...I love that he's a wonderful president and that he loves his daughters..he's just wonderufl...hehe sorry for saying "wonderful" a lot. lol
I'm baaaaaaaaaack!
Would you please post that photo of Billy Cunningham and me now?! Thanks so much . . . I'm going to use this photo to discuss an important election topic!!!
Thanks so much for once again posting some absolutely amazing photos of our Commander in Chief and his troops!!!
You're the best!
We have a bird mother that has built her nest in our fireplace...and the babies and mother sing and chirp really loud, as the sound comes down the chimney...
My 5 year old granddaughter comes over 2 days a week for me to babysit...and she gets really mad, because the birds make so much noise, she can't hear her cartoons....LOL
(It was wonderful!)
Kennedy doesn't want the facts to come out....and any law suit he might file would bring out the facts.....Beside there is no statute of limitation on murder....
Thanks :-)
Ohio: Thank you for posting the photo of me and Billy Cunningham. I asked you to do this for 2 reasons:
1.) I wanted those on this forum who haven't met me yet to know what I actually look like when not scrunching my face -- Dolly takes beautiful photos; unfortunately, I don't!
2.) I wanted to use Billy Cunningham (radio personality, 700WLW superstation based in Cincinnati) to springboard into a conversation about the election that will take place in Ohio's 2nd congressional district on August 2 . . . Yes, I live in this district!
Today, I received several e-mails that have me a bit panicked.
It seems as though the Democrats (national, state, and local) are pouring EVERYTHING they have into this election . . . they're actually mounting a bigger effort than they did for the presidential election!!
They want this seat for two reasons: 1.) to embarrass the President (actually, this could be reasons 1-10), and 2.) to give the Party momentum going into the 2006 congressional elections.
The e-mails I received today indicate that the race seems too close for comfort -- Jeanne Schmidt (R) is running against Hackett (D) to replace Rob Portman (R) who is now the US Trade Representative.
This will be a LOW turnout race between a MOTIVATED Democrat Party and a Republican electorate that is largely unaware this election is even happening: It appears that I'm going to be spending my weekend on the telephone!
If anyone else on this thread wants to volunteer in the 2nd congressional district, freepmail me so that I can provide you with ways that you can help our candidate!
Do either of you know the name of the bird that sounds like the little dinosaurs in Jurassic Park that spit stuff and killed the fat guy?
You know what I'm talking about? Kind of a whirring sound??
(And no, I'm not going crazy..........we have these in our woods ;)
