I understand what you said about the "finch" song. I would go into a terminal slump if I couldn't hear robins sing on a summer morning. Of course, 4:30 a.m. is a bit early and those robins act as though they have a duty to wake up all the other birds and ME. LOL I've often wondered what they're saying to each other. I read the other day that chickadees have something like 16 distinct calls. I think I've heard them all.

We have a bird mother that has built her nest in our fireplace...and the babies and mother sing and chirp really loud, as the sound comes down the chimney...

My 5 year old granddaughter comes over 2 days a week for me to babysit...and she gets really mad, because the birds make so much noise, she can't hear her cartoons....LOL

Hey kitkat or hoosiermama........

Do either of you know the name of the bird that sounds like the little dinosaurs in Jurassic Park that spit stuff and killed the fat guy?

You know what I'm talking about? Kind of a whirring sound??

(And no, I'm not going crazy..........we have these in our woods ;)
