Prayers For Red Sox Star Matt Clement

For any Boston Sox Fan Freepers (and I know there are some)please pray for Matt Clement. If you are watching the game, he was just incredibly hit by a hit ball in the head on the mound. He lied on the mound for at least five minutes, motionless. The most shocking moment I have seen in sports. Please pray

"I take it you were hit by a lax ball or a rock?"
Don't forget iceball and baseball ;)
Now that this youngster appears to be OK (thank goodness) and the Red Sox are about to be tied with the Yanks in the AL east, all I can say is HAH-HAH! (No reference to this kid - I just love watching Boston sink.)

So Commish, are ya picking up on the intense, medical education and training I've been blessed with??? hehe!

Whew, either of you getting warm?? Damn, these Jersey nights, humidity just doesn't quit, I tell ya... : )
Humidity in Jersey? I can tell you all about humidity, but I have promised never to complain. I love the heat and the humidity here hasn't bothered me at all.
Some like it HOT and I am one HOT_______...lol.

It could stay numb for a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days -- but the feeling will come back and it will come back with a vengence. Clement will not be enjoying life for at least the next week.

Senator! I'm no fan of Boston... but are you telling me you're a Yankee fan? I used to be... Mickey Mantle and I went to school with Graig Nettles.

In Atlanta - in the Bottom of the 10th Luis Ayala comes in with men on first and second and two outs- Hits Marcus Giles with a pitch and then walks Andruw Jones to lose the game. Atlanta 3 Washington 2
In Tampa - TB 8 Boston 6 bottom of the 8th.

It was terrible, I really hope that he's going to be OK. I was eating dinner in a resturaunt/pub, and the head waiter called everyone out of the kitchen and all the waitstaff, and everyone just stop talking and watched to see what was going to happen.

No movement at all? Where did the ball hit him? Side of the head?
No, no movement at all. Hit him right on the side of his head, and he went right down.

Update from the Red Sox organization (as of about 10pm ET): Matt Clement never lost conciousness, the results of his CAT scan were negative. He will remain overnight in the hospital (whatever hospital is closest to Tropicana Field - they didn't specify) for observation (my paraphrase of the Red Sox statement).

Thank you. He is one fortunate young man. He looked lifeless to me. Prayers for his speedy and complete recovery.

"Mickey Mantle and I went to school with Graig Nettles."
Either Mantle was real dumb or Nettles was real smart.
To: Senator Pardek
Poorly written sentence. I loved Mickey Mantle (I was YOUNG) and I liked the Yankees again, when Graig was their 3rd baseman. I went to school with Graig although he was two years ahead of me.
