They do not say how recently this discovery occurred? It seems like some extensive work has been done.

The site will be pillaged and sold to the highest bidder. Turkish "authorities" in occupied Cyprus have no business being there at all.

The so-called authorities of the Antiquities and Museums Department at occupied Famagusta, headed by Mr Hasan Tekel, were informed

Objective reporting at its finest!

This person should be writing for the New York Times, Washington Post, CBS News or, at least, Pravda!

The so-called authorities

I think I'm going to always put "so-called" in front of the word "authorities" from now on too.

I like the way it sounds.

Thanks Blam.

"I'm beginning to wonder if we shouldn't start a history division of the GGG list? What do you think?"

I've mostly stopped pinging the list for "Thoroughly Modern Miscellany" topics, although it's not unheard of. Oh weird, I just had a flashback to my childhood piano lessons. Must be time for a CAT scan. Anyway, I don't think it would be worthwhile to try to get everyone sorted out by what list they want, considering most would want more than one. :')

IOW, for example, we could have a list of "Ancient Egypt", another for "Paleontology", another for "Modern history", etc.

By "we", I mean someone besides me. I do some crazy things with my time, but that ain't gonna be one of 'em. :') I see what you're getting at though; I could just stop pinging stuff, and rely on the Digest ping to notify everyone of the unpinged material added to the catalog.

To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks.
Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on, off, or alter the "Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list --
Archaeology/Anthropology/Ancient Cultures/Artifacts/Antiquities, etc.
The GGG Digest
-- Gods, Graves, Glyphs (alpha order)
