We aren;t God.
Perhaps, what does God want us to do is better.
We can't do what God can do, can we?

It's a good question, but with all respect I don't believe the threat is "mild".

I'm reminded of Sodom and Gomorrah. There's a lot of folks ought to be happy I cain't turn nobody into a pillar of salt...

God is immortal, all-knowing and all-powerful, so he probably doesn't feel threatened much.

He would start a vanity thread on FR saying, "what should I do?"

First commandment of God. I am the Lord thy God and thou shall not have strange gods before me...
This includes the moon god form the Islamic cult I am sure.

He'd probably post a thread such as this in either General/Chat or Bloggers & Personal forum.

Should we not ask ourselves, when we feel mildly threatened - "What would God do?" What did I miss? Do I need to get in the shower?

God Will
By Lyle Lovett
Who keeps on trusting you
when you've been cheatin'
spending your nights on the town
Who keeps on saying
that he still wants you
when you're through running around
and who keeps on loving you
when you've been lying
saying things aren't what they seem
Well God does, but I don't
and God will, but I won't
that's the difference between God and me
God does, but I don't
God will, but I won't
That's the difference between God and me
So who says he'll forgive you
and says that he'll miss you
and dream of your sweet memory
God does, but I don't
God will, but I won't
That's the difference between God and me.

All such questions are specifically restricted to the time after the coffee and dessert. Still better if a few brandies are included.

"when we feel mildly threatened "
Depends on your definition of "mildly" threatened. You mean when someone cuts you off in a parking lot or when someone explodes a bomb and kills your kids?

Hmm. Sodom. Gomorrah. The plagues of Egypt. The cleansing of Canaan. All of these sorta come to mind.

If we all want to avoid a war of incomprehensible destructiveness, we are going to need to learn to work with them to share the resources and discover how to keep making ourselves richer while using a sustainable amount ... Am I understanding you correctly when I believe you mean that we should just shut up and fork over what we have created/grown or be killed?
"Richer"? In what way?
"Sustainable amount"? Use the bare minimum and fork the rest over the those who demand it from us?

If God wants to act, he will. Historically, He did some of the direct smite thing & He also did some of the empowering enemies thing. We are not God & we do not have His power, so it would be foolish to ask what God would do & act on whatever we came up in answer to that question.
I have a feeling you didn't ask the question as directly as you wanted. There is a long standing Judeo-Christian tradition of "just war" & much has been written about it. I believe the answer to the bigger question would be found by doing some research into that area.
BTW, what is the difference between a "mild" threat and a "strong" threat, if it can be presumed that both are real threats, as opposed to a perceived threat?
To: Einigkeit_Recht_Freiheit
Should we not ask ourselves, when we feel mildly threatened - "What would God do?" Since GOD cannot be threatened in any real or meaningful sense, I would submit that the question we should ask ourself would be, " What would GOD have us to do?", when we feel threatened.
