Bin laden himself spoke of ensuring that "the pious Caliphate will start from Afghanistan." His chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, also dreamed of re-establishing the caliphate, for then, he wrote, "history would make a new turn, G-d willing, in the opposite direction against the empire of the United States and the world's Jewish government." Another Al-Qaeda leader, Fazlur Rehman Khalil, publishes a magazine that declares "Due to the blessings of jihad, America's countdown has begun. It will declare defeat soon," to be followed by the creation of a caliphate.
Or, as Mohammed Bouyeri wrote in the note he attached to the corpse of Theo van Gogh, the Dutch filmmaker he had just assassinated, "Islam will be victorious through the blood of martyrs who spread its light in every dark corner of this earth."

Who here in America thinks the terrorist threat is gone if we end support for israel or pull out of Saudi Arabia? Do any of you know anyone who actually thinks that way?
We really have lost the will to win like we had with imperial japan, haven't we? We probably aren't going to force islamists to capitualte with out giving the hiroshima treatment to Iran, Palestine, and others. Does anyone have a possible explanation as to how we became so scared to use nuclear warfare never mind that we may need it now just as much as we did in WWII?

Sidenote, it looks like Daniel Pipes has finally gotten tough again in dealing with islam and its aggression. I guess one can only handle playing nice with islam for so long.

You know, I don't see how this can possibly be stopped, the dam has broken and we let it all go too long. I am afraid that nuclear is ALMOST the only option. Unless the rest of the world and nonradical Muslims start working against these wacko's, I don't see how to fix it
To: unsung
In the mind of a jihadist, there exists three groups of people in their "ideal" world:
1.) Muslims (believers)
2.) Slaves to Muslims (non-believers)
3.) Dead (unrepentant non-believers).....that's all ya gotta know about what we're up against!!

May be the only option, as the world is filled with "diversity-first" PC gutless wonders afraid to speak the truth in dealing with Islam.

I heard the "It's all because of the Palestinians" mantra on Medved yesterday from numerous callers. They really believe if we leave the middle east and dump Israel every thing will be hunky dory.

What the terrorists want is abundantly clear. It requires monumental denial not to acknowledge it, but we Westerners have risen to the challenge. Sunk to the challenge is more like it.

And of course, they are right. Everything would be 'hunky-dory', the Arabs having gotten what they wanted. For about two weeks. Then, new demands would emerge, and they would try it again.
But what's really depressing is that the same idiots and traitors that think the Muslims would stop killing if we only changed our policies, or something, would wake up having totally forgotten that they had already tried appeasement, and it didn't work.
These people not only cannot learn, they cannot be trained either. My border collie is more intelligent, and probably has a better grasp of how the world really works.
On a side note, don't you think liberals are evidence of special creation? Could evolution really have produced such a species with so little instinct of self-preservation? Or so little urge to reproduce, as opposed to humping a leg, or something? Just asking.

What the terrorists want is abundantly clear Nobody that I know is on the fence when it comes to Islam. Everyone I know understands and detests it. I think the U.S. government also understands it but couches its language in the hope that it can be defeated without employing extreme measures. I believe that extreme measures will ultimately be required ... starting with a serious crackdown on the mosques and massive deportations. If the terrorists introduce WMD, which they might given their fascination with death, it will be the beginning of the end of Islam.
