Giuliani is the strongest WOT candidate we have. Let's see if the Johnny One Notes on abortion derail him.

That is so ridiculous because you have a so-called "pro-life" President now, who has done next to nothing to move forward the cause besides the PBA signing. Bush has not cut a single penny from the hundreds of millions of tax dollars you give to Planned Parenthood every year, no federal funds going towards 3D ultrasounds to discourage abortions, then he strongly supported pro-abortion cannibal like Specter over Toomey (and lost PA by a mile anyway). How would Giuliani be any worse on abortion. He has already said he supports a partial birth abortion ban. what has bush given us beyond that? Nothing.

But abortion is not the most improtant issue anyway, It is Islamic terror. And I challenge anyone to find me a tougher law and order candidate in the GOP who is more hostile to Arabs than Rudy Giuliani. There is none.

"The conservative field (some are debatable, but to each his own) looks like:

Brownback, Frist, Allen, Huckabee, maybe Pawlenty."

Didn't see Brownback, Huckabee, or Pawlenty on the list above.

Frist is one of my Senators. He's a conservative in name only.

like I said, to each his own -- or to each against his own, or something

"I totally agree. And if its a choice between him and McCAin I will vote for Rudy!"

Is McCain pro-choice like Rudy? The Christian Right/Evangelicals will eat Rudy alive if he gets the nomination.

How 'bout the Johnny Three Notes on

Abortion
Gays
and Guns?

If you think conservatives are just gonna line up to vote for a liberal because he was mayor of NYC on September 11th and somehow that makes him the best commander in chief available, you got another think comin'.

I agree with what you said about how Bush hasn't done anything to abortion and neither will Rudy....and I want a President that will stand up to terrorists, like Bush has....but I still think Rudy should run for Senate first....sorry, but I have to see what he is like when dealing with the likes of kerry, kennedy, clinton, poloski, dingy hairy, etc....

It's disappointing to look at a list of eleven prospectives and have a reaction of "No" and "HELL NO!" to the top seven.

Sad but true. We really need to find a couple worthy successors to W - the time's coming when we'll need good candidates, and they should get a running start.

My question is, as conservatives are we prepared to accept Giulliani in 2008 if he wins the nomination?

I will not vote for a pro-abortion candidate for President, and neither will many others. (Not to mention his pro-gay and anti-gun views.)

30 million dead babies is no joke.

If terrorism is the biggest issue at that time, Rudy will win the nomination IMO. People would trust him to wage a powerful WOT.

Not Many Freepers as I can see, but Rudy has been going all across the country including the South and has been getting standing room only crowds and very positive feedback from people about running for President. So Apparently there is a major gap between Freepers and the people who Guiliani is reaching.

..if Rudy ever won the nomination -- that would be the end of the GOP -- just like the Whigs.

Rudy would split the party. There is no way that pro-life republicans would ever vote for a pro-choice candidate. My top priorities are the War on Terror, border security and illegal immigration. I won't vote for any candidate who is soft on any of these issues. We need an America-first president not one who panders to Vicente Fox and makes deals to subsidize Mexico's citizens at the expense of the American tax payers. We need a president who will control our borders especially when we are in a state of war. We need a president who won't promote the illegal invasion of our country. I'll get off of my soap box now.
