Al Qaeda Threatens Rome, Berlusconi Personally Addressed

The Abu Hafs Brigades who claimed responsibilty for the two London bombing attacks published a fresh warning Monday, July 25 on their internet web site.

'After London, it is now Rome's turn.' An earlier warning by the same group gave Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK and Italy until August 15 to pull their soliders out of Iraq.

The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was warned that by failing to withdraw Italian coalition troops from Iraq, he would 'by his own hand turn Rome into a graveyard.'

The statement threatens the Italian capital with harsher and more painful strikes than the London attacks.

'As long as a single Italian soldier remains in Italy, you the prime minister can look forward to nothing but 'more and more blood.'

This sounds like 'Islamofacist Summer World Tour 2005.' It won't work, Londoners are even more po'ed than before.

Next, the Abu Hafs Brigades will probably be calling for Karl Rove to resign.

The target is the Vatican.

Many Muslims still assume that if they take out Rome, Christianity will perish. Funny it didn't work with Constantinople, it wouldn't work with Rome.

If a nuke does hit St. Peter's, then we will have the re awaking of the old struggle once again.

If they nuke the Vatican, all bets are off.

I don't doubt you, but the Vatican would be a horrible target.

The Vatican has zero soldiers in Iraq and officially opposed the Iraq war. Hitting them might give some people the wacky idea that you can't appease a terrorist and that the best way to defeat them is to hunt down and destroy the terrorists wherever they are.

"Didn't the pope issue a statement condemning the London bombs of 7/7 ?"

Yes, he condemned the attacks in Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, and Britain, but he failed to mention Israel which experienced a terrorist attack on July 12th in which 5 Israelis were killed. Guess Jews don't count.

"Most are theorizing that the Vatican would be a prime target."

That would be a very grave mistake.

Actually, I don't think they'd dare take out the Vatican. For some reason, they still haven't made any strikes on specifically Catholic targets, and I think they're actually afraid to do so.

I think they know that if they do that, all bets are off. There will be no more "religion of peace" talk from naive Catholics or clueless world leaders, and the battle lines will be drawn.

B-b-b-but Berlusconi paid many millions in ransom funds to Al Qaeda--funds for weapons to be used against American troops! ...seems Al Qaeda would remember that and be thankful.

And the answer to the troop question is "no." Italy announced that its troops are leaving Iraq during the anti-American Sgrena affair.

The Pope didn't condemn Islamic terrorist attacks against Israel, and the Israeli's are outraged. Maybe the Pope thinks he'll head off an attack on the Vatican by appeasing Muslims. A fool's game.

Well so much for that propaganda stunt the stinkin' commie reporter pulled, getting her body guard killed crashing through a checkpoint, to help her friends the terrorists make a little cash. I guess the 7 million dollar ransom the Italian government paid to rearm the "freedom fighters" in Iraq didn't go very far.  Looks like their buddies have turned on them big time! I guess once you're an infidel you're always an infidel.

As a Catholic take offense at this remark. Of course, the Holy Father is against all terrorism. Some people are too sensitive! I'm also getting just a little bit tired of some Israelis telling the Vatican who they can or cannot canonize(Edith Stein, Maximilian Kolbe) and demanding to be allowed to snoop around the Vatican library for items they think belong to them. What an arrogant attitude!
