my last comment on this subject

Daves second wife knows her place. But I suppose some would want to call her Natalees "stepmom", right?

ach!

They don't look the same to me. The one in the t shirt has a higher forehead and the nose isn't right, even though he is scrunching it. imo.

I'm seeing that now mewzilla. SM is discussing it and one member has stated it is on ABC News. As Charles Croes stated in his post on Aruba. com the public will be surprised or something to that effect.

Define "knows her place." What are you getting at? Of course Dave's wife is Natalee's step-mom. If not, what is she? A diseased leper?

I'll refer you to the definition of stepfather from Dictionary.com

These definitions don't put stipulations on who can and cannot be called a stepfather.

2 entries found for stepfather.

step·fa·ther ( P ) Pronunciation Key (stpfäthr) n.

The husband of one's mother and not one's natural father.

stepfather

n : the husband of your mother by a subsequent marriage

Well, nothing could surprise me at this point. That young lady and her family have been victimized twice, first by the perp/s and then by the Aruban government.

I guess the "witnesses" are afraid they will be locked up, like they did Steve Croes (who should have stayed locked up, because he lied). The way this case is being handled is a hoot!

our local news (ABC affiliate) just said they were investigating the close personal relationship of the former police official and PVDS

Well, well, well! Might the truth actually be found and the corruption exposed afterall? FINALLY?

Sending prayers....

Loved Cozumel - horseback riding on a Cruise Day Excursion.

Understood from our Mayan guide that the island is almost wholly owned by a Mexican rancher who lost all his cattle in the Gilbert hurricane. The area was still rather desolate.

Lovely people and great sense of humor.

now is this going to turn into a Jug Twitty/Step-Parent bashing thread?

I suggest that since this thread is about family and the missing product of a family, the people on this thread, having Nat's family (and our own by implication) as the primary motive for being here, behave like one big extended family.

They are kind to each other, giving and generous at time, crabby and feisty at others. There have been hugs and cat fights...all of which were forgotten as we got back to the matter at hand. The fate of our beloved Natalee.

After all is said and done, I am quite proud of all the people on this thread for a job well done.

Now forget I said that...I hate mushiness.

Thanks, country conservative!

By the way, what's SM? I've been lurking on these threads but haven't been able to really keep up. Traveling, etc.

"He is defying the Aruban/Dutch establishment. Just how much power does Jossy have?" This is a very good question. I think there are two schools of thought on Jossy and I'm not sure which one I favor more. 1. Jossy is, from what I understand, very wealthy and controls a lot of the 'business' on the island. He is from the Mansur family, reported to be a mafia-type clan. If there is more to this than a date-rape gone bad and some other people are involved it may be that they are 'rivals' to the Mansur family. Jossy may want to see them taken down and has no qualms about it. His interest may be more 'politcal' and we know that all politics are local. 2. Or, Jossy is very interested in ties to the US. He may be looking to crack the 'market' in this country. This case has draw worldwide attention and Jossy helping the US may end up with some 'favors' some favors down the road. And then again, a number 3: I have read waaayyy too many Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum and John Grisham novels.

I am simply amazed that you would praise these whacked out thoughts. - it is as simple as that - I don't see what good it does - if you are going support Beth and Natalee than I think that you should also support the family as whole and not degrade the step-parents in such a foolish manner.

Like you said... The End!

I think that any man married to the mother of a child who is from a prior marriage is a stepfather. Seems to me both men are important to her. Jug has sure been there non stop as has her father. It doesn't diminish a father for a stepfather to be there,,you can love more than one person.
