Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has said that the US was impotent as far as the global war on terrorism was concerned. He said that the US was adopting double standards, as it attacked Iraq on the pretext of installation of democracy, and on the other hand, it was hands in glove with a military dictator in Pakistan.
"By using the pretext of democracy to invade Iraq, while backing a military dictator in Pakistan or a tyrant in Uzbekistan, the US double standards cause Muslim alienation," the Daily Times quoted him as saying.
He further said: "The US and Israel were leaning on Mahmoud Abbas to curb Palestinian militancy, but this would achieve nothing unless the root cause was addressed. Similarly, they could lean on Musharraf to open way for political leadership as much as they liked to close the madrassas, which preach militancy."
"In short, the Americans are impotent in this war on terror" Khan reportedly said. (ANI)

Although I believe Imran is correct in his point that the US musnt mollycoddle the Pakistani dictator who is doing his best to hide the terrorists, Imran Khan should consider himself lucky that the US hasnt yet shown its *REAL* potency out of benevolence. Had US displayed even a fraction of its potency, Pakistan would have been the first to turn into a radioactive heap by now. Its typical of the Islamic world to confuse benignity for weakness.

At least he's made his alliance with the terrorists official. Pakistan appears to be the biggest breeding ground for these animals. Oh yeah, and don't you just love it when they talk about the "root cause"?

The real impotency is where our government REFUSES to recognize the danger that banning profiling because of political correctness and ignoring the open boarders is pure stupidity.

The "root cause" is the excuse with which they can extract the maximum bargain for themselves without having to take any trouble of cleaning their own mess all by themselves. They can always dump all responsibility on the west.

don't you just love it when they talk about the "root cause"?World-class leaders like Lech Walesa, Rev. Dr. ML King, and Mahatma Gandhi successfully used non-violence against injustice.
No one is causing Islamicists to be violent.
Islamicists are choosing to be violent.

I wouldn't worry about this idiot - he's the Pakistani celebrity equivalent of Babs Streisand and Jihad Jane - pretty, but not much up top.
He certainly wasn't complaining about the west when he fathered an illegitimate child with Sita White and married/divorced Jemima Goldsmith. He likes his blonds and that doesn't bode well with the religious populace to which he's trying to appeal.
Maybe we'll be seeing him next on a vegetable oil fueled tour bus with the aforementioned....

Our relationship with Pakistan is real simple:
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Been that way with Pakistan since the Russians were in Afghanistan.
By the way, this fella felt free enough to criticize his government.
