I am not interested in a protracted theological debate, but will clarify for your edification: Of course the wages of sin have their price. But God is not evil, and does not do evil. And He does weep when men do evil to innocents, and take innocent life. This is NOT to say He punished America by causing 9/11. The terrorists punished America on 9/11 for having a free society, which is antithetical to Islam.
Good topic for the Religion forum.
Thank you for your reply.
Terrorism -- the left hand of islam, well on it's way to committing suicide as a political/economic/psuedo-religios system which the terrorists themselves despise, but too cowardly to seek their own freedom from their oppressive beliefs or to kill themselves -- hell-bent on manipulating the world to kill them instead.
Suicide by cop.
Sometimes a cop has to do what a cop has to do.
Good info... thanks.
We are fighting for our lives, our way of life and for America. The stakes couldn't be higher.
You don't suppose the IHEU will re-shuffle their priorities and associations now and re-direct their energies towards the war against islam, do you?
Did I say the 'war against islam?' I meant the war on terror. Getting more difficult to tell them apart. Heh.
'Detroit, First! Next, the World!'
Totally agreed.
The way I see it is this... if you want a spiritual/physical analogy, think of America as a group of lazy warriors -- warriors that have been getting fat and slow witted by their indulging themselves in their affluence, getting distracted by petty grievances and sometimes doing some very selfish things. The enemy sees this and tries to make its move by stealing and plundering from these guys, and let's say 9-11 would be like they killed maybe one of these guys' family members. Now, the guys suddenly realize they're a little out of shape to go after these enemies, both mentally, emotionally, and physically... but does that make the killing of the family member their fault? No.
If they do not start exercising, eating right, applying self-discipline, moral discipline, (*eg. repenting = turning away from the old habits) etc, they will not be sharp enough to be able to go after the enemy effectively. THAT inability is what would be their fault. It is minor compared to that of the enemy, but it is deadly and because it is the only thing we control it is totally our responsibility. (e.g. we cannot convince the enemy not to attack other than by gearing up for a counterrattack and/or carrying out an effective counterattack, we can only convince ourselves to 'throw off every encumberance' and prepare, morally, mentally, physically.)
That's Czarist Russian architecture isn't it?
I've not seen it said any better, Terriergal. Thank you for your wisdom. The way of the warrior, which I strongly suspect we all shall be at a moment's notice.
Needs to be repeated often.
ping to Terriergal's comment.
Inspired writings don't seem inspired when one is writing them. It's only later when you re-read something and it touches your soul and you exclaim, 'Wow! I wonder who wrote that?'-- and then remembering it came from your 'pen.'
The pedophile muhammed (may he burn in hell forever between farmer john's hams) was the most evil person to ever walk on the earth.
Only a fool or an idiot would follow his drug-induced rantings.
Unless you support his having an 8-yo "bride." You must have the same inability to deal with real women as he did.
So refreshing to finally hear someone say this out loud! Great post!
