The tars alone will destroy your lungs ability to cleanse themselves. The nicotine is a vasodilator that can interfere with you body's circulatory system. Also, I met lots of people when my wife was going through chemo who were dying of lung cancer for which there is no cure. Not one of them had not smoked for years. In the 7 years she was treated for breast cancer we never met a non-smoker who had contracted lung cancer. It's possible but rare. Almost all lung cancer patients are smokers. If you need more evidence, smoke for 20-30 years and report back.
