It will be interesting to see how Sen. Hillary Clinton votes..........My guess is that she will vote to confirm because she wants to act so sickeningly presidential. Of course, she will offend the leftists, but they will go along with her because they figure she's the only one who has a chance to beat a conservative. Richard Proud Parachute, Colo.

Last week, Sen. Chuck Schumer boasted that he was ready to go war against USSC nominee John Roberts. Apparently he is against the war with terrorists, but for the war on conservatives. Bill Yermal Oxford, N.J.

Roberts brings with him one of the most impressive resumes any nominee to the high court has had. Still, Roberts isn't likely to sail through the confirmation process. He already is being bashed by those on the political left as out of touch with mainstream America. This just is an attempt to detract attention from the real issue: Liberals want a judge who will legislate from the bench, rather than strictly interpret the constitution. He deserves a fair hearing and a fair vote in the Senate. Randy Nichols Belleville, N.J.

Laura Bush wanted a woman on the Court....her husband appointed a man. In a brilliant political maneuver, the president announced a nomination on prime-time TV. In Roberts, he gave us a solid conservative and showcased him for all of us to see cleverly before the liberals start painting horns on his forehead. Perhaps Laura's wish was no more than a ruse to confuse the liberals' attack dogs. Laura Atehortua Brooklyn

The personal opinion of a Supreme Court nominee is of little importance if that person answers the following question honestly: How does a matter that comes before the court square with the United States Constitution? Catherine Dillon Manhasset

There is intelligent life out there after all........ I'll bet the NYT could have 47 columnists doe 23 columns and never come even close to the truth this Lady managed in 2 sentences.
The b---h would say or do anything to get elected.
One problem she is carrying the baggage of her co-president.
She's trying like hell to look "conservative"----I say she'll pull a scam -----she votes for Roberts but her public statements will denigrate and demean him.
Agreed. Beautiful.
This will be a weighty challenge for her... but in the end, she'll probably not vote at all.
Why would anyone doubt that?
I say that Hillary will be very quiet and show up for the vote about 3/4 of the way through. She will wait for Chuckie and co. to cast their votes first.

Headliners and Legends is doing Hillary on MSNBC right now. I had to turn off. Ugh!
I guess she's not as dumb as I thought she was.
After she opens a charge at Wal-Mart, enrolls in divinity school, and gets a lifetime membership in the John Birch Society, she'll need to get a shopper's card at Sam's Club, and schedule daily morning prayer services in her Senate office.
And just to make sure she covers all bases, Bill will take an anti-adultery pledge in the vestibule of the National Cathedral, when Hillary takes her minister's vows.
Oh, and after rifle-range practice, Hillary will campaign for 2008 wearing
the official DNC apron, and give Easy-Bake oven cookie demonstrations
I have two young Republicans in training in my home (my kids) and I tell them all the time (using Hill-Da-Beast as the prime example) that if they want to know if a politician is bogus, research how they live, what they say, and how they've voted.
If they are a fake, like Hill-Da-Beast, you don;t have to look very far to see that there is a huge discrepancy.
Good training------as, the saying goes, "look at what they do, not what they say."
