their massive document and memo request amounts to a filibuster Exactly right. They're finding ways to filibuster without filibustering, and they will continue to ratchet up the rhetoric. It's going to be up to the Republicans to squash it, regardless of what name it's traveling under.

Durbin says the high court can change the law.
$$$$
The first time I heard Schumer say "the Supreme Court makes law", in response to a question about why Priscilla Owen was acceptable for a circuit court but not necessarily the Supreme Court, I thought he inadvertantly revealed a truth of his thinking.
By now I have heard this so many times, it is obvious that these dems not only believe the function of the Supreme Court is to MAKE law, they believe that it is OK to say so.
They, once again, are wildly out of step with the mainstream of Americans.

Durbin says the high court can change the law. Do you know when is this idiot up for reelection?
To: Sybeck1
Will Durbin be asked about black ops satellites and why his security clearance should be maintained? Out of principle, will he step down for laking black ops? Ooooops, I forgot. The MSM is on HIS side...

I'm shocked - Timmy is actually doing a half decent job of questioning Durbin - of course, Turban has some pact answers (this is different that when Ginsberg went through the process - Hatch gave Clinton her name - Hatch has tried to respond to that, but I think he needs to do a better job - it's coming back to bite him).
Also showed a clip of Bubba saying his SC nominee would uphold the right to privacy in the constitution. Timmy said if Bubba could base his pick on his philosophy, shouldn't Bush be able to do the same. Dicky-boy said that if Roberts didn't agree w a right to privacy under the constitution, he'd vote against him.

I thought it was the plagiarist who made the "make law" statement.

Just back from lunch so did not reply before. They seem to get stuck on a single issue as if it were the only thing that they think will come before the court. At the end of the day surely all they should worry about is that he will apply the law of the land, and will not put his spin or interpretation or person feelings on a ruling. To get caught up on certain subject not only is stupid but he cannot answer because he may later have to rule on this.

I know plenty of Southern conservatives democrats. Thing is, today they call themselves Republicans.
I only know of a handful of conservative dem holdouts here in my part of Alabama. Most all, probably 95%, have moved on to the GOP, especially since 9/11. The ones that remain are very elderly or can't wrap their minds around the fact that their entire party has become the free range of the barking moonbat and leftist tree hugger.
