Police declined to release a motive for the fatal stabbing of Robert E. Sanders, who had been living with the boy's mother, Teresa Sanders, in Hickman in far western Kentucky. Police allege that the boy stabbed the man while he slept and that the boy's 4-year-old brother was watching.
Possible child abuse? Still, pretty rare. wonder about the mother and the circumstances with this live-in boyfiend.
The end of the article says that the county dropped complicity to murder charges against the mother, but she's charged with felony criminal abuse of her other son (a 4-yr old) and endangering the welfare of both kids. Something bad was happening to these kids. No details, though.

There must be more to this story.
Fifty years ago everyone would understand why a little boy would want to kill a man who was sleeping with his mom, but never bothered marrying her.
Of course, I still have problems figuring out how a seven year old killed a grown man with a knife. It would be easier to picture the kid killing him with a gun.
