People who lived through the U.S.'s WWII internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II -- including a Japanese-American woman who was interned as a teen -- have told me again and again that one of the reasons for the camps was to protect the Japanese from an angry populace. Yet popular hindsight sentiment on all sides of the political spectrum today is that the internment camps were wrong, bad, horrible, unjustified, and should never be repeated under any circumstances.
I feel like I'm the only person in the country who feels this way, but I am absoltutely convinced that if Muslim terrorists start blowing up shopping malls and especially if they start blowing up hospitals, all of our currently fashionable reservations about internment camps will go straight out the window. And it may just be that Muslims will be as happy to see them as anybody because they know they'll be protected from being hunted down and obliterated by citizens a little too pissed off to give any Muslim the benefit of the doubt.
If they hit hospitals, churches, theaters and innocents in general, I think this will escalate to where Mosques start becoming targets right back.
I don't see the world getting hit and then begging for another hit. I see the response being rather brutal.
Oh you don't have to worry about internment camps because there won't be any...
The 1993 WTC was "shame on them" and 2001 was "shame on us" because we should have been known about it in advance and been prepared but the next one is STRIKE THREE. And as any good American worth his or her weight in hot dogs knows. Three strikes and you're outahere!

The Liberals would be very upset if the terrorists target the hospitals. Where would all the illegals go for their free gold-plated medical care? Now that would be something that would upset them.
What I'm saying is I bet they'll make an encore if Muslim terrorists start screwing with malls and hospitals and if American vigilantes start a bloody vendetta. As with those orignal Japanese internment camps, they would serve two purposes: to prevent those among the Muslim population who were traiterous from helping the enemy, and to protect innocent Muslims from being injured or killed by vengeful citizens.
I had the same thought yesterday...
And .. we have a large childrens hospital and another big hospital within a few miles of each other who both have helo pads. We also see a lot of TV helos. We also have a very large Muslim community here in San Diego - and 2 of the 9/11 bombers came from this group. Very unsettling.
Alright, now I'm really scratching my head. Yesterday, I saw a black helo hovering in the afternoon while setting up equipment off North Harbor Drive. Were we watching the same thing?
Hmmmm?? I actually see the black one - sort of small for a helo - and it will zip past my back door (which faces Hwy 8) heading east - so fast that by the time I hear it - it's almost past my house.
I'm not sure if they are NSA or CIA - absolutely NO MARKINGS - not even anything indicating it's from the USA.
That's right! Get Karl Rove. Hospitals and our nation's security are of secondary importance. Karl Rove must be indicted and through him W can be brought down and DemonRATS all over the nation will sleep better at night. GET KARL ROVE!!
There are really many targets besides trains and planes. Churches, theaters, Amusement parks, malls, etc. Any further attack on America needs swift brutal retaliation. The message will need to be sent to the countries they originate from and those that sponsor terrorism, starting with Saudi Arabia.
They could play us like a fiddle. Put out the info/intel that it's hospitals, then hit the big churches. The misinformation could easily be put out, tying up resources, and leaving other targets sitting ducks.
Bottom line, real strict immigration reform now, and real border security. This should have been done years ago, right after 911.
