Obama a Celebrity Due to Media Obsequiousness

Other than being somewhat charismatic, and a good speaker, what has this guy ever really done?

Considering that Senator Obama (I always have to do a double-take on that name), is matched with Illinois' utterly imbecilic and totally obnoxious Senator Dick "the Flop" Durbin, I am not surprised that he is well received. Now if he was fat, white, had bad skin, and spoke with a stutter, but was equally intelligent and charming, would he be the poster boy for the "moderate" left? This is an age of images not substance as the late Neil Postman pointed out. When William Howard Taft could not be elected because of his portly demeanor.

It's an age where television news anchors are cloned in the labs of some secret New York genetic firm so that they all come out looking and speaking like Barbie/Ken variations. Where our actors and actresses have the faces and characters worthy of toothpaste commercials. In other words, an age of utter mediocrity--and Senator Obama rises to the top of the mediocre milk shake.

He is a media made celebrity, low on substance.

Well if he's got a thumbs-up from Gorbachev, it's all over...might as well just start calling him "Mr. Vice-President"! /sarcasm off

What is the AP grooming him for?

The new age Jesse(I liked to spit in white folks soup) Jackson. Obama has the slick approach that Jesse used to have. All he lacks is an illegal money well and a young girl friend to entertain him when away from home.

This guy gives me the creeps. I think he's a total phony and a stealth commie socialist and the usual anti-American in sheep's clothing. Total facade.

They are drumming up a "black American" as the new paradigm for all Americans of African descent. With no "slave" blood in his family history, and at least 50% Northern European Caucasian descent, Barack is probably more Muslim Arabic than indigenous black African in his paternal line of descent.

Of course, the old rule to be declared an "Indian" applies - if you say you are an Indian, you are an Indian. But then, the problem is to find a tribe that will accept you.

What "tribe" is Barack supposed to belong to?

He is a charasmatic lightweight. When he gets done talking, I think, 'gee that's great, but what the hell did he say?'. He is in office because of failed - or absent - leadership from the Illinois GOP. There was a whisper campaign in 04 that the GOP cut a deal with him, knowing that Keyes had no chance. If/when Durbin is indicted on national security charges, Obama will rise to become the senior senator. It has been a cakewalk and a fluke, enabled by IL-GOP ineptness.

The press and the media can groom him all they want but barack obama brings nothign to the national table. Blacks already vote democrat 90% to republicans 10% so its not like he can pull anymore of the black vote becuase that 10% tend to be very conservative and will easily see through Obama Osama's fakeness. All obama does is spew leftist ideals with a smile and a mention of god and say that the bible says we must do x y and z in hopes of pulling other voters. Obama is from illinois, a solid blue state so it hardly pulls that and he has no regional pull.

If democrats were to put a hispanic on the ticket, say a bill ricahrdson that could help them more than an obama because richardson could potentially pull a few more hispancs from the GOP which would hurt them plus Richardson has regional pull being from new mexico he carries that state and can help flip colorado and nevada which would = a victory for democrats.

Give Senator Obama everything he's got now, but with my politics, and the media would be calling for his impeachment. Take it to the bank.
