I saw suspect shot dead
By NICK PARKER,MIKE SULLIVAN, STEVE KENNEDY, CHARLES RAE and VIRGINIA WHEELER
A SHAKEN commuter told last night how he watched armed undercover cops shoot dead a suicide bomb suspect by pumping five bullets into him.
Mark Whitby, 47, was sitting reading his paper when the Asian man leapt into his Tube carriage at Stockwell station with the plain-clothes cops in pursuit.
As the man stumbled the cops closed in and fearing he was about to detonate a bomb immediately opened fire.
Mark said: As the man leapt on the train I looked at his face. He looked just like a cornered rat ... like a cornered fox, absolutely petrified.
Then he tripped. One of the police officers was holding a black automatic pistol in his left hand. They held it down to him and unloaded five shots into him bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
Five shots and hes dead. It was no further than five yards from me. It was like a nightmare a very distressing sight.
Last night police sources told how undercover officers had followed the suspect to the station from an address in neighbouring Brixton, South London.
The house had been under surveillance overnight after its address was found on documents in one of the rucksacks used in Thursdays failed bomb attempts.
At 9am yesterday a young Asian man walked out of the house wearing a heavily-padded jacket.
He was tailed from a distance and followed on to a bus.
The officers in pursuit were wearing concealed earpieces connecting them to Anti-Terrorist chiefs at New Scotland Yard.
When it became clear the man intended to get off the bus near the station the officers urgently requested armed assistance fearing he had a bomb beneath his padded jacket and planned to detonate it on a train.
It's already been shown on Sky News that our police picked up some tips from the Israelis - you have to shoot these bastards in the head: if you shoot them in any other body part, they may get a chance to hit the detonator. If you shoot them in the chest, it may set off any explosives they're wearing. Bullet straight through the head is the only way.
There is no doubt this fellow was an Al Qaeda cell operative. In which case he deserved to die anyway (yes all members of Al Qaeda should not just be shot, but butchered like pigs and buried with pig carcasses). Good shooting, lads.

"What is best in life?" To crush the jihadists, to drive their minions before you, and to hear the lamentations of their mullahs! Allahu fubar!
Some of the dunces on FNC need to get out of their ivory towers now and then.
If I heard correctly, I think they also said more than one shot would be best, too, as one might not do the job. Sounds like these fellows followed good, sound advice--not out of control at all. If Amy Kellog is "distressed" she should find other work.
Did he?
It has to be distressing to watch someone get chased down and shot, and killed by the police. No normal person can't react.
But not as distrissing as if he had stopped and detonated a bomb on the bus. Now THAT would be really upsetting.
As a medical student once told me, blood bothers me the most when it is my own.
No, you do have to put them down pretty ruthlessly so they don't set off any bombs. The lads did exactly the right thing, and were operating in the best traditions of our police.

I wonder how stressed the old boy would have been to have
the whole train blow up literally in his face.
Yeah. A message was sent too. Taunting, and practice runs can get you killed.
Outstanding!
Here's my question - how did the witness guy, who lives in a country with no guns, know it was "an automatic weapon"?
5 shots - reload 5 more for good measure - then stab the SOB 22 times in and around the heart - tie a brick to his feet and dump him in the Thames.
Would those be the same posters who insist on driving a wedge in every thread on this Forum? You know, the trolls, disruptors, and Democrats?
Must be.
the only thing wrong is that the Brits didn't arm the officers who were doing the surveillence. They had to call someone else for that.
Asian is the typical English term for Indians and Pakistanis.
Just another example of how the US and England are two nations separated by a common language.
After shocing a rasher of bacon into his mouth.
Some have been around quite awhile--but also some newbies.
Wish I had been there to applaud and lead the crowd in an appropriate Anglican hymn or two.
I would guess most likley a test run. Did you read the piece?
