...my family spent most winter term breaks at the Snowy Owl Inn in Waterville Valley, NH, I got to spend some "quality time" with Ted, Joan, Ted Jr.  and  Patrick during a couple of winters.  We were kids ranging from 9 to 15 and enjoyed some billiards, pinball, skiing, including a little famous Kennedy snow football once or twice, etc.  but of most interest, upon reflection, was Joan. The Snowy Owl Inn had a Great Room where Joan would sit all day in a dark corner wearing large dark glasses.  She would sit with her back to the room playing solitaire, sometimes for 5 or 6 hours straight - late into the night.  Ted would socialize with us, his  kids and sometimes a few other guests he knew, and he would occasionally check in with Joan. Once or twice very heated but quiet conversations would  take place between them, I only wish I had listened in!  But I do remember  that one day Joan came down in the very late afternoon (DELETED)!  I never made the connection back then in my youth that they were the result of (DELETED), but I remember Ted Jr. and Patrick wouldn't talk to their dad for a couple days and now I know why.   I just thought this might  be of interest  to you to add to your background of the Senior Rancid  Senator from MA.

NEED HELP ON A NAME

 

In order to have as complete a list of Fatboy's women as possible, I'm trying to find out the name of the Teddy girlfriend who was exposed by the New York Post during the 1980 primary campaign in New York against Jimmy Carter. I even interviewed her about how she and Teddy used to (allegedly) take LSD together, but I can't recall her name. I checked checking all the available biographies of Ted, Jimmy Carter and Rupert Murdoch at the public library this morning, but found no mention of "the countess" in any of them.

 

Can anyone help me? Did someone clip one of the Post stories, or one of mine.? (I'm embarrassed I can't locate some of my own clips.) Just the name will suffice; I'll take it from there.
