Thanks for the moral support. My desk chair has turned into a real life saver........I am having a really hard time dealing with the crutches, so I use my chair to get me where I need to go when I'm in the house, which is most of the time.
I'm supposed to be getting some kind of a real cast on Tuesday, and hopefully I will then find out when I can go back to driving.

"Dear Taxpayer," the letters begin. "Under state law, the Alaska cigarette tax must be paid on all cigarettes brought or shipped into the state. ... This law applies to cigarettes purchased by mail order, phone order or over the Internet."These letters: do they have to be signed for? If not, I never get them.

Maybe they will give you a walking cast.
Do you know that cast on my right leg made me so nervous? I am claustapobic anyway, and that cast really made me uncomfortable. Even though it was on my leg. Strange.

After awhile, I don't know WHERE the hell I am. haha!ROFL...I know the feeling. In fact, just earlier, I posted a rather combative reply to someone on another thread, only to realize I had mistaken them for another FReeper I had a ping from on a different thread with a similar screenname! I was soooo embarrassed. :) Especially when THAT FReeper STILL wasn't the same one I addressed the post to! LOL

I'm truly hoping they give me a "walking" cast......but I've got no idea what's going to happen Tuesday.

Probably not strange at all. Remember me, the tall gal who loves wearing 3, 4 and 5 inch heels? I'm afraid of heights and these danged crutches have spooked the heck out of me.
Meds are starting to kick in and hubby is finally home form work - so I'm going to call it a night. Talk to you soon, my FRiend :)

State tax collectors recently obtained lists of customers from five separate online cigarette companies with the help of the federal government, said Meredith Helgerson, spokeswoman for the Department of Revenue. In all, the lists contain 6,000 names of Wisconsin customers, she said, declining to name the vendors. WTH?! Never mind that's it's over cigarettes, what about this B.S.?!

congreess should act to stop this nonsense... a president's adiministration's policies may be good or bad, but they are his business, not his business to affect another's one way or another...

The DOJ hands are tied in this litigation against the TCs.........neither Bush or Ashcroft were interested in pushing the issue that was started in 1998 (or thereabouts) by Janet Reno and so language was put into legislation, signed at the 11th hour by Clinton before Bush took over, mandating it be continued. I'm not defending them, just making the record clear that it was not a Republican Administration that started this nonsense.
Oh, I know it wasn't Repub's that started this crap, but being cynical in my nature, the WH could with the same stroke of a pen, bring it to a screeching halt. The DOJ could just as easily choose not to proceed, they do it all the time, when they want to. They've hardly washed their hands of the previous Administration. Blackbird.
To: Gabz
In the same cynical nature, you'd be hard pressed to point out a single "Red State" (so called), that hasn't had their hands in raising Taxes on Smokers. Blackbird.
To: BlackbirdSST
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. It was a Republican controlled legislature that gave the Dem governor the largest tax increase in the history of Virginia....including a twelvefold increase in cigarette taxes.
And now it seems some in congress wants to do the same with porn - Bill Would Tax Internet Pornography

Surely the Pubbies could keep one attorney with Alzheimer's full time on the case. That way he couldn't foul up important cases. :-)
