Tonight's Sci-Fi Listing:
7/6 - Firefly: Yes I know the Sci-fi channel is showing repeats, but I consider Firefly one of the best shows.. Also Firefly is a good example in why Sci-Fi shows should never be on a regular network.
8/7 - Stargate SG1: Avalon Pt II, I was impressed in how Browder seems to fit in the show.. So far it is starting on a good foot. This week SG1 discovers more info and discover a new enemy.
9/8 - Stargate Atlantis: Last weeks episode was awesome. I like how they use tatical nuclear weapons. Not very PC. I also liked the Asgard character. This week a wraith virus infects the Dadeaulus..
10/9 - Battlestar Galactica: Off to a good start. The ending was cool and finally get to see some non-human looking cyclons! This week cyclons board the Galactica.
Only two? If I were in charge, I would show a whole day of Star Trek reruns in honor of James Doohan.
47,881 at the start of last season's finale. 47,875 at this season's premeire, 47,874 at yesterday's. (Seems like more people were killed than that, maybe a bunch of babies born). Next week should be quite a bit lower.
I am crazy about Richard Dean Anderson, so I was disheartened to see him go, but I have to admit the show is still very entertaining. Shanks is coming into his own IMHO.
On please.
Actually it was found out by Scapers (Farscape fans) that one third of all Nelson boxes in the U.S. are located in and around New York City, so if you want to be angry with someone about most of the crap on TV, blame those in and around NYC.
A Hummer? An honest to *od US issue Hummer!?
You've got to be freepin kidding me.
This show, it writers and producers, have shown a consistent lack of imagination for a story that is supposed to be about an alien culture in a far off part of the galaxy.
I'm surprised they didn't slap a US flag on the ship and call the planet that got nuked - New York.
You have to understand, certain concepts are universal, independent of time, place, and culture.
Chief among them is "accountant."
;o)
Can I get added to this ping?
"You've got to be freepin kidding me."
Frakkin'
"You've got to be frakkin' kidding me."
and religion beleifs evolve different ...
Haven't scanned the thread, but did anyone else have difficulty with the Sci Fi Channel signal Friday and Saturday evening? It appears that the channel needs to clean its DVD player lens.
Your tag line sure fits.
LOL I've thought the same thing. BTW, where does the fleet get its replacement parts?
Frankly, most episodes I find myself rooting for the Cylons.
It's not supposed to be an alien culture in a far off galaxy. It's supposed to be another version of us, we're supposed to be the 13th colony of Kobol, they're the other 12. It's not a lack of imagination on their part, it's a lack of understanding on yours, the culture is supposed to be largely us, with just enough differences to make it sci-fi. That's one of the basic concepts of both versions of BSG.
DVDs aren't all that's cracked up to be. One they're too expensive for all but the hardcore trekkie (average fan can't afford--and the one that can or is willing to purchase, is already wearing starfleet uniforms) two they damage as easy as cds. Try viewing copies from the public library, and there is at least one episode scratchy as all heck on each disc, and all but one has an episode (one of 4 per disc) that won't play. I can't get Where No Man Has Gone Before, What are Little Girls Made of, or Errand of Mercy to play... And Operation Annhilate becomes unviewable ten minutes into the episode... taking Star Trek away from syndication is utter b.s., something worthwhile outside the political realm for FreeRepublic to fight for.. FreepMail me if you agree. I'm sure we might even be able to find common ground with some DUmmies on this subject as well. Sometimes we need a unifying, apolitical diversion to bring us together for a fight.. Makes us realize there is more to life than partisan politics at the end of the day..
No worries there. As the last surviving population of humanity is depleted, they'll move the survivors to the more sound vessels and cannibalize the others for parts.
My question is how are they going to replace the Vipers and Raptors they are losing?
Kind of like the lost tribe of Israel?
