Pray for President Bush

O Lord,

It is with humble and grateful hearts that we come before You, thankful that we serve a living God who hears our prayers and directs our paths with the Light of Your Word, pure and eternally true.

Father, our President has many enemies, both abroad and at home, but because he puts his trust in You, we claim Your promise to be a Shield to him, protecting him from all harm, physical and spiritual. Lord, keep his heart turned towards You that he might always seek Your wisdom and inspiration and not lean on his own understanding.

Keep our military in the very shadow of Your wings, O Lord, and give them strength, courage, and cunning as they fight the terrorists. Even as they serve in distant lands, assure them that they are not alone but that You are with them always.

We offer thanks to You that the attacks in London today failed in their mission to reign more destruction on that city. Bring peace and calm and resolve to the people who have now endured two terror attacks in just two weeks.

Father, our nation has sinned grievously against You, turning from Your ways and ignoring Your commandments. The evidence is seen in the abortion clinics, in the schools, in the courts, and in the headlines we see of perversion and debauchery. Forgive us, Lord! Embolden Your remnant to stand up for Your righteousness. Hear our pleas, O Father, and heal our land. Renew in America a thirst for Your Word and an appetite for the Kingdom of God.

Lord we also add a note of personal prayer as we seek Your healing for one of ours who has been taken ill. Bless our brother alpha-8-25-02, who has put his faith in You and loved You. Lift his spirits as You heal his body.

We ask these things in the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Yes, pray for the President and all who fight under his stead.

Hebrews 13:18 - Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.

We pray, Father, that because our President is brother to Jesus, the Spirit of the Lord would rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Let him not judge by what his eyes see nor make a decision by what his ears hear, but by what he learns and knows from Your word. (Is.11)
