From wikipedia:
Even Limbaugh's introductory theme music has attracted controversy. Since the 1980s he has used an edited and looped version of the powerful instrumental riff from The Pretenders' "My City Was Gone", a song written by Chrissie Hynde to bemoan the effects of overdevelopment on her native Ohio. Limbaugh loved the riff, hated the message, and thought he could both attract listeners and annoy opponents by playing it. When a landmark copyright case was decided in the 1990s, musical artists gained control over their works when performed thematically. Briefly in 1999, Limbaugh was forced to suspend playing the song while negotiating with Hynde. Hynde eventually decided to allow Limbaugh to use it, with Limbaugh donating approximately $500,000/year to the animal rights organization PETA. Hynde explained that she doesn't agree with Limbaugh but her parents are big fans.

Hi, Ultra. I always enjoy these threads. Loved the bit I just heard about Christiana Amanpour wondering who these people trying to bomb the tube could be and why can't they make these bombs work.

The intro is The Pretender's "My City was Gone", Rush has a tape of an interview in which the lead singer, Chrissy Hind, states that her parents listen to Rush and are thrilled that he uses her song. Chrissy is a lefty, but doesn't care that he uses the tune. Her publishing company, or whoever controls using her recorded music, assumed she wouldn't want the song used by Rush, and somehow ordered him to stop. Once the Pretender's people learned that Chrissy didn't mind him using the song, they negotiated a price, and he resumed playing it as his intro.

This was a trial run to prove they could drop bombs and still have time to get away.It could also be for the head terrorists to demonstrate that the grunt terrorists can really, really, really trust the head terrorists not to set of the bombs prematurely and blow up the grunt terrorists.
To: Springman
Sounds like Christine was disappointed the bombs didn't go off. I thought I heard her say, Fire those terrorists bombers.

I don't quite see how terrorist attacks are the media's fault. Are they supposed to avoid asking questions about terrorism or Iraq like Rush did when he had the Vice President on yesterday? He complains about softball questions and every one of his questions was just that.

"Back to Ohio". Pat Benetar, I think. I hear it grates on her that he uses her music as his intro. Actually, it's The Pretenders, with Chrissie Hynde, who is miffed about Rush using it. ...and the song is "My City Was Gone"
