Give it time. If President Bush hadn't gone after the terrorists and their money, this might have happened earlier in Britain.
Just look at the goofball Muslims in Britain listening to that radical one-hand imam. Remember that it didn't take that many militants to take over Afghanistan.
You need to wake up.
.....reality check.....
.....world wars have been started by ONE murder.....
.....with a 24 hour news cycle, world wide.....
.....their intent is the same.....
Attacks in 22 countries in this 12 year period seems pretty global.
"Artillery's post isn't necessarily so brilliant. Look at it from the opposite point of view. Consider that less than 1% of our population consists of policemen. But that less than 1% can be quite effective if it has the tacit support of 95% of the remaining 99% of the population. Anecdotal reports of friendships with muslims is valueless in assessing the problem."
That's a good point and I have some sympathy with it. There's no way that extremists could operate unless moderates turn a blind eye. There clearly are degrees here. That's why I think that Muslim communities need to be pressed to isolate extremism.
But still - the problem is more-or-less widespread political sympathy for the goals of extremists. It's still not true to say that Muslims are all terrorists, or that Islam is the problem.
These Islamic cults have been roaming the globe for 25 years, targeting innocents with impunity.
The UN, EU, the European and the entire western press, have been painting them as victims of an Israeli "occupation" for 25 years. The civilized world has rationalized these murders of children in pizza parlors as understandable as long as Israel fails to lay down for the Pals living who are living in slums that Arafat and other Arab gov keep them in, for the sympathy factor.
It is a proxy war against the US and Israel power, always has been, and quite deserved and enjoyed as Europe sees it, until now, since they are targets as a result of fighting back.
This represents the beginning of a terrorist campaign in the UK and you stand there saying the 56 deaths is insignificant. Then imply when all the attackers where British Muslim nationals that this is not an Islamic problem?
If you truly believe that, then say that to the families of the people who are dead. Just because death never claimed you and yours you sit there acting like nothing is going on? Your comments make me sick to be honest.
Uh...yeah, like I've got time to peruse over 1500 posts to go find an original.
Hey, look at it this way...you had the privilege of reading one of my many media rants.
And it's not even directed at you since you didn't make the comment. ;-)
Barf Alert. Lord Mayor of London, Red Ken will be speaking soon.
The beeb is really going whole hog on the 'nuisance explosion' theory.
Stay safe! Let us know if you hear anything else.
This is insane! The terrorists plant several bombs all around and none go off? Is that what they're saying? If the detonator goes off and the bomb doesn't....no harm, no foul? It's just an incident? It's a freaking terrorist attack!
Oh well....whatever. Incidents.
Someone is terrorizing the population of London.
I would assume that Muslims in the UK are much like those here. Much of the reason they live there is to get away from the nutbars. Weren't a couple of heavily Muslim areas hit by the first attacks?
Yes, there are Islamist nuts who are a threat. But the Muslims of the west are our allies against them. Of course, if we let the islamophobist bigots carry the rhetorical day, they are likely to wonder if there is really that much of a difference.

I don't know if they have re-call votes, but Londoners might want to re-think their mayoral choice...
Or maybe they just used the wrong internet recipe to make their bombs, which is what I *strongly* suspect is what happened. One of the recipes out there that's pretty common results in modelling clay that smells funny, but won't explode.
An EMP device would have rendered the bomb inert, an RFI device would have been responsible for "premature detonation". However, if the main charge hadn't been defective in some way, the entire bomb would have gone off (just not in an enclosed space where it would do a lot more damage)
Where did you hear about St. Paul's?
From what mosque are you posting from?
