Democratic incumbent Hillary Rodham Clinton continues to sport a hefty lead over potential 2006 Senate race Republican challenger Jeanine Pirro, a statewide poll reported Wednesday.
The Siena College Research Institute Poll had the former first lady leading the Westchester County district attorney, 57 percent to 31 percent. A June poll from the Albany-area institute had Clinton leading Pirro, 59 percent to 29 percent.
Pirro has said she will run for statewide office next year, but has not announced whether that will be for Senate or state attorney general, or less likely, governor if Republican incumbent George Pataki doesn't run again.
Sixty percent of voters surveyed by Siena for the new poll said Clinton should be re-elected and 60 percent said they have a favorable opinion of her. National polls have her as the front-runner for the party's 2008 presidential nomination.
The less well-known Pirro's favorable rating was 27 percent, with 61 percent of voters saying they didn't have an opinion about her.
Siena's telephone poll of 620 registered voters was conducted July 12-18 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
I wish these people would go form a country of their own.
Gawd! is it asking too much for the Clintons to just go away?

To whom has Hillary contributed?
Given that it's over a year until the election this is meaningless. 90% of New Yorkers don't know who Pirro is, but once they do it will be a whole new ball game.
A small sample of registered, not likely, voters. It's not a good poll.
I fully intend to make a sizable contribution to whoever runs against the hildebeast.
We'll never get rid of them till the brain dead quit voting for them.
Hitlery is the most dangerous socialist in this country.

Understand that every newspaper/TV reporter salivates over every word she says here, she can't do wrong. My family likes her, but most don't know why (could it be she is shown as a goddess by our press?).
When Ed Klein's book came out, they were perplexed as to what could be written about her, what could she have done that's not perfect.
I'd like to see the percentages after being asked how they will vote if they understand that Hillary only intends to be there 2 years...

Unfortunately if HRC wins next year she is a shoe-in for the nomination. My prediction: Allen v. Clinton
Allen wins if he stays positive and avoids the "gender" traps that the liberals in the media and campaign will set for him. Hillary will not be as easy to defeat as some think. I think the suburban/soccer mom vote will be open minded toward her after the press implies "it's time for a woman".
Then asking them to die is out of the question.
I've already seen polling done on that. Her numbers plunge south :)

What a waste of time & $.
