And the fact that it is coming from a mainstream liberal source is even more disconcerting. They're just not as discreet as they used to be. Everyone knows they are bigots, they are tired of pretending otherwise.

"We had no idea that John G. Roberts, Jr. was a Roman Catholic until today. But when we learned of his religious affiliation, we wondered how long it would be before his religion would be dragged into the debate."
Dems still fancy themselves as the anti-bigotry party, the party that wants to keep religion out of politics, but once again they are playing the religion card, dragging someone's faith into the debate.

Since my Catholic friends now have a German Pope, I've been "baiting" them with beer and pretzels. ;)

"She says this is a "timely pitch to "conservative Catholic voters prior to the midterm elections"
We're well over a year away from the mid-term elections. What this is for the Dems is a timely pitch for an appeal to anti-Catholic bigotry.

Ferocious anti-Catholic bigots like Schumer and Boxer will fight tooth and nail against any practicing Roman Catholic (or devout/evangelical Protestant) from ever being named to the Supreme Court. The democrats have a long tradition of anti-Catholic bigotry, as can be seen in this democrat party propaganda from the 1850's.

Oh,
pelllleeeaze. So, if Bush had picked a woman he would be pandering to the female voters.
If he picked a black to the black population.
If he picked a Hispanic to all those of Spanish or Mexican heritage.
If he picked someone of the Jewish faith well, he would be expecting gratitude from the Jewish voters.
Etc, etc, and so forth.
What would make them happy: An American of mixed heritage, who is neuter in gender and agnostic?
Whatever they can come up with they will use to find fault. This is just too pitiful for publication. Lets see if Kerry and Kennedy speak out against any Catholic bashing that results from this kind of trashy journalism.

The people who run the democrat party are anti-Chrisitan, anti-Jewish and will use religion as the reason for destroying someone. The neoleft has become what the national socialist and communist were; Anti-freedom, so as to impose their belief structure on everyone through hate and violence.

And the fact that it is coming from a mainstream liberal source is even more disconcerting. We hope this is not the beginning of an ugly few months.Oh, it is just the beginning. Remember, Mr. Donohue, the barking moonbats are now the mainstream of liberal thought.
And yes, I fully believe the American Prospect would have run an article calling "Playing the Jewish Card" if Bush had nominated a Jewish person instead of Roberts. Much of the moonbat left is openly anti-Semitic.

Bush is "betting he's bought himself some insulationany opposition to Roberts, particularly because of his anti-abortion record, will likely be countered with accusations of anti-Catholicism." This is SWEET! Throwing the MSM's "Catholic-fad" back in the dims ugly faces.
LOL!!! Hitery has to be furious 'cuz this takes the edge off her conversion to Catholicism, Hehehe.

As usual, since it doesn't appear that the Dems can demonize him for anythign he has ruled on, NOW they are going to demonize him because he is Catholic...
Maybe they should get Sheets Byrd up there to scare the Catholic out of him or whatever else the KKK likes to do to Catholics both north and south...
