Former CNN anchor Bill Hemmer joins Fox News Associated Press
NEW YORK Bill Hemmer, dumped last month by CNN as co-host of its morning show, has joined archrival Fox News Channel as a daytime anchor.

Once one of CNN's rising stars, Hemmer was called the "chad lad" following his coverage of the Florida recount in 2000. CNN paired him with Paula Zahn as American Morning co-host in 2002, before she was replaced by Soledad O'Brien.
CNN said it wanted to "improve the chemistry" in the morning when it replaced Hemmer with Miles O'Brien this spring. The New York-based Hemmer was reportedly offered a White House correspondent's job at CNN but declined.
A Cincinnati native, Hemmer began his career as a weekend sports anchor in that city.
Hemmer will be a correspondent along with anchoring daytime news coverage, Fox said Tuesday.
CNN probably fired him for not mentioned the sex abuse scandal every 5 minutes, as required by memo.
I think the duo of Ken5050 and babaloo could kill Hardball. LOL!
I always thought that was Jim Carrey on CNN.....
40's??? REALLY???
I guess it says a lot that he turned down CNN's offer to be a whitehouse correspondent.
And perhaps with more ladies watching FOX, I won't have to hear some hot, liberal, chick go into a Bush Bash tirade at a bar...but methinks that's wishful thinking.
Is Fox swinging further left? I hardly watch now.
Judge a man by the nature and the character of his enemies, eh? Well, then, if the DU nutters hate him...he's a good guy.
"CNN said it wanted to "improve the chemistry" in the morning when it replaced Hemmer with Miles O'Brien this spring"
Shows how much I watch CNN. Miles O'Brien was the chief Engineer on Deep Space 9, played by Colm Meany.
Hemmer won't have the visibility he had at CNN (at least initially), but I can envision him filling in on the morning programs, during daytime coverage and occasionally for Shep Smith. BTW, I heard MSNBC was offering him a slightly better deal, but Hemmer apparently decided to go with a winner instead of the #4 cable network.
I didn't have Fox News during the 2000 election and I always thought Hemmer did a fair job and didn't lapse into the typical CNN bias. Not to mention, very easy on the eyes.
Is he really in his 40's??! Maybe there's hope for me yet. ;)
Seriously, though, I was just going to post that he looks like a kid I went to college with.
Perhaps salivating?
I never thought about Shep. He must be having a fit.
CNN - Certainly Not News
Or Carnal Nowledge [sic] Network?
Hemmer is a good guy. What happened to Rita Cosby?
awwwww.......gawd.....ugh...
Hemmer's a good guy. About the only other anchor at CNN I'd like to see at Fox more is Miles O'Brien.
