(JND) - As I sat down to read through some scripture Thursday night, I reached for the remote to turn off the already-turned-on TV.
It was then that a sit-down session between Jon Stewart and Howrad Dean on Comedy Central's The Daily Show caught my attention. Howard Dean speaking on national television...it's like watching a car crash in slow-motion.
I couldn't resist.
I set down my Bible, turned on the laptop, and prepared my fingers to record what sound bytes might spew from Dean's mouth. I didn't have to wait for long.
"I have yet to find a reference to gay marriage in the Bible." said Dean...
...I'm not the first, and I won't be the last to say this: "Howard Dean, you sir are a complete idiot."
...In a Q&A session by GotQuestions.org: "The Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; I Cor. 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin( Rom 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality."
The Q&A also goes on to say, "To give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. I believe that Christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage....

"I have yet to find a reference to gay marriage in the Bible." said Dean...I'll bet he didn't find anything about abortion clinic bombings either. Didn't I read recently that someone is going to prison for that? Oh well, maybe Dean just hasn't finsished reading.

Why does the Bible not specifically say anything against gay "marriage"? Because they never would have made it to that point. You can hardly get married when you've been stoned to death!

Howard Dean really needs to read:
Mat 7:13 "Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it. Mat 7:14 But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it. And Christians need to always: Mat 7:15 "Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you looking like sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are really like wild wolves.

It does refer to Howard Dean, there are numerous references to asses

No. He didn't say anything about them marrying. He said to not even do it. Heck, he killed them for it at Sodom and Gomorrah. In Romans, he let them kill each other off, and he's doing it again today through AIDS. Being eaten alive by a virus is not something I would consider a "blessing!"

What does the Bible say against a man or woman marrying a dog, a sheep, or a goat?

He's right-- It doesn't say anything about gay marriage, because it's a nonsensical concept.
The Bible clearly condemns homosexuality, just like it condemns bestiality.
In addtion to the OT passges, Christ Himself said what marriage is-- between a man and a woman.
He didn't need to list all the thing s it's not, like man and man, man and goat, etc.

Howard is biblically illiterate and has proven to be so on numerous occasions. Bottom line is, most lib/dems are.

unfortunately, i believe dean is correct. i don't recall anywhere that the bible SPECIFICALLY prohibits gay marriage. i also don't think the bible SPECIFICALLY covers abortion.
maybe that's because most of us understand that when God says "don't have homosexual sex" that means you probably shouldn't get married. just like when God said "Thou shall not kill" that includes unborn children.

I saw a gay male driving a jeep last weekend with a bumper sticker that simply said "Sodomite" (in addition to his "Hate Is Not A Family Value" sticker).
When people celebrate their sins, rather than just confess them, they celebrate evil.
Should we be tolerant of unrepentant kleptomaniacs? They "can't help it" and are happy to have all that free stuff.
