MILWAUKEE (AP) - The trial for five Democratic political workers accused of slashing the tires of vehicles rented by the Republican Party on Election Day last November will start Jan. 9.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Jean W. DiMotto, who has handled the case, authorized switching the case Monday to Judge Michael Brennan because she will move to small claims court duty in August.
Attorney Robin Shellow, who is representing Sowande Omokunde, the son of U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., had requested that the cases remain with DiMotto, but attorneys for the other defendants had asked that the matter be moved, as court policy dictates.
The trial was supposed to start last week, but the illness of Shellow's mother, who has since died, prompted a postponement.
The defendants are Omokunde, 25; Michael Pratt, 32, the son of former Milwaukee acting mayor Marvin Pratt; Lewis Caldwell, 29; Lavelle Mohammad, 35; and Justin Howell, 20. All are from Milwaukee except Howell, who is from Racine.
The five are charged with criminal property damage, a felony carrying a maximum 3 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
No fear here.
When I heard that the trial was postponed because of one of the defendant's mother was sick, I got mad because I thought it was a stall tactic. I feel kinda bad now that I hear she died.
What a joke. It takes 14 months to BEGIN a trial for vandalism? I'll place a marker right now that this trial will never take place. The far-left lawyers and the far-left DA's office will come up with a plea bargain. These thugs will never pay a price for what they did. They are too well-connected, the wrong color, and from the wrong political party.
I think I would live out in the "woods" and take my chances with the "wild life". The bears, badger and other assorted is bound to be safer than city life.
I'll say that it will go to "trial", but that the fix is in and they'll (surprise!) be acquitted. The Dims and the press will then gleefully rub our noses in it.
They'll still WALK.
In other news, Nancy Pelosi complained today about Republicans' ethical standards...
Wish this was in Federal, not County, Court.
i just want to know...did these idiots report their activity as "in kind" contributions?
This is a federal matter!
"Omokunde" - where is he from? Sounds sorta tribal?
Wouldn't it be great if they claim they were abused as children? Doh!
You are correct sir.....in the Peoples Republic of Wisconsin, the chance of a black democrat being convicted of anything is god-d@mn near slim to none. Heck if they were white democrats and broke the law they might even become governor
Background of the crime, and photos of all the perps are located here:

If anyone has time to c&p photos over here for future use and reference, feel free!
This was not simple vandalism; this was an attempt at voter intimidation during a federal election. It should be tried as such.
