The President would do well by us to appoint Edith Jones.

But he could do well for his administration by appointing her and letting the firestorm over Rove get sucked dry by the Demoncrats being torn by going after the nomination or still trying to go after Rove. Where is my copy of "The Prince" ....

Bush will not have Roe overturned with only 1 woman on the court. That would be a political disaster.

I'll be a white woman.

E.C. is perfect.

Hehe, us in South Dakota have already put it up and it passed, but the governor was concerned about the cost of defending the law in the SCOTUS as well as our law didn't have a provision to protect the mother's health so it got the veto. We aren't naive, if that were a provision we'd have a million reports coming out that pregnancy is dangerous, regardless of actual circumstances.

I love SD, we're always right, in more ways than one!

How? Overturning R v W will not eliminate a single abortion.

Not by itself, but it could at least return control to the state legislatures or (Saints Preserve Us) even Congress.

T.Olsen might get Stevens seat in the winter, if the reports about Stevens getting his affairs in order are true.

And that is where it belongs. That would be a truly conservative action.

We'll never know unless it happens, will we? Toothpaste can be put back in the tube. It just takes hard work and patience -- and a dearth of cynicism. Unless, of course, you are comfortable with abortion being the so-called "law of the land".

It's reported that he's picked a nominee and you take that as "bad news"?

End of the Texas Hold 'Em Game for Specter. We've all complained over the last 6 months about Specter's disrespect for the President after W campaigned for him in PA. Time for W to collect Specter's chips. IMHO.

Don't mess with a Texan!

Specter was DA in Philly. He is well-grounded in law.

Yeah, Scottish and magic-bullet theory law. The guy's a wacko.
