The attacks from certain members of the Democratic Party against Karl Rove this week have been an absolute disgrace. This is an attempt at personal destruction and political opportunism at its very worst-it is downright shameless.
It has been reported that the liberal extremist group MoveOn.org has been giving the Democratic leadership direction over the last several months. It comes as no surprise that MoveOn.org was the first to call for Karl Rove's resignation this week.
But for members of Congress to take part in this smear campaign, that's an entirely different and truly unfortunate matter altogether. The Democratic leadership even brought the political attack against Mr. Rove to the floor of the United States Senate on Thursday by offering an amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations bill that would strip his security clearance. Strip his security clearance based on what, hearsay? What an absolute sham!
This excerpt from a statement from Mr. Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, should help demonstrate why the Democrats are so completely and utterly off base in their political antics:
"Rove has cooperated completely with the special prosecutor, and he has been repeatedly assured he is not a target of the investigation. Rove has done nothing wrong. We're confident that he will not become a target after the special prosecutor has reviewed all evidence."
Majority Leader Bill Frist summed it up quite well in saying, "this is a sad and disappointing afternoon here in the United States Senate."
Based on the information at their disposal, the Democrats have taken reckless partisan attacks to a new level. The Democratic Party leadership is in disarray and they are desperate-attacking has become their modus operandi. They have personally attacked the President's well qualified judicial nominees. They have attacked every single plan that is put forth to address saving Social Security. Howard Dean personally attacked the Republican Party, saying its members have not worked an honest day in their lives. And the Minority Leader Harry Reid personally attacked the President of the United States by calling him a loser and a liar. The Democratic leadership has guided the Party into an abyss-no new ideas, no agenda, just negativity.
Below are some quotes from Senate Democrats that fully acknowledge the points that I am making and should serve as a reminder why it is so important to support the Republican Majority in the United States Senate.

Somebody's really in trouble, and they know damn well it's not Rove, but are going to try and bring him down for the hell of it. They might figure they have nothing to lose after all the scandals they've tried to manufacture over the last 5 years have left them looking like the silly prix they really are.
It's important to remember the MSM filed a brief stating there was no criminal activity so our reporter should not have to name sources. Now, they've reversed that stance to a point of an absolute ridiculous fever! I feel there is a deflection going on by the press of biblical perportion. Judith Miller is sitting in a jail cell not because she feels she has to protect a source for ethical reasons, or to protect other reporters, it's much more complicated.
Yesterday, I kept asking was Plame REALLY covert, and got a multitude of rebuke! Everything from her former Boss to J. Wilson stating she wasn't covert at the time her name was revealed. That's not the issue here, and the press knows it, but they keep insisting it. The issue is why is a reporter sitting in jail to protect a source, that her bosses argued to the court, committed no criminal activity because Plame was either already outed, or NOT covert. They have to know Rove is not in any criminal danger and the President has stated ONLY if there was cinimal activity would that person no longer be in his adm.

...The day Dr. Rice was confirmed as Secretary of State, the CIA desk jockeys as you so aptly call them, were more than likely sick to the stomach after she made it clear that she would not coddle any of the rogue nations from the U.N..
They have been gunning for Bush ever since, and quite frankly need to be permanently retired and removed from the intelligence payroll.

In an interview Joe Wilson said that it was illogical to think that Val wanted him sent on the mission.
Joe said that his wife, the CIA WMD expert, needed him at home, to help watch the twins.

I don't even bother to watch them (ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN) anymore - even for opposition research. People in the know are reading/writing blogs (ala POWERLINE).
Whats great is the number of people calling in to shows mocking the MSM for being lying weasels. The Net has broken the MSM information monopoly and the public is finally starting to "get it".
You're so right! The story below made me think of our current Democrats, so determined to viciously attack Bush/Cheney/Rove, et al that they may well end up destroying their own electoral chances (one can hope) for many years to come.....

She was not covert - hence the scare quotes around "leak"
If Plame was not covert, there is no crime, there is no reason for Miller to be sitting in jail, there was no reason for Fitzgerald to put her there, for not revealing a source.
The democrats are truly mob rule now. It's like watching a house burn down.
