We have a fish fry, too. I like it a lot - the K of C sponsors it, and it's always a lot of fun. I wish we did something like that year round.

"I think bars should close in observance of St Patricks' Day."

NO! I give up wine, beer and Scotch for Lent, except for a pint of Guinness on St. Patrick's day.

The first day of the week, Sunday, observed as the day of rest and worship by most Christians.

Could you please refer me to the Biblical passage that says specifically that I am bound to keep the first day of the week holy?

YHWH bless in your search for TRUTH.

Acts 20: 7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread...
You see, Jesus is God and He changed His feast day of celebration to the first day of the week in commemoration of His Resurrection and our new life in Him. Also, I note as others have that you rightfully identify the Apostles as the early Catholic Church. Well done! You forgot to mention: Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Thus Acts 20:7 is insignificant. They broke bread everyday. Not just on Sunday. On the 7th day Sabbath as well.

YHWH Bless in your search for the TRUTH.
