• 1968: US Senator Edward Kennedy’s car drove off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts killing his 28-year-old companion Mary Jo Kopechne. Kennedy fled the scene of the accident and received a suspended sentence of two months and one year's probation. Chappaquiddick now stands for political nemesis— a shady part of ones past that won't go away.

I hate pretty much all the Kennedy's to some degree Teddy being the biggest horse's ass......but this kind of behavior I would think a Dem or lib would do......this is not such a Christian act to dredge this crap up everytime ....The Swimmer is a loser from the word "Go" but to sink to the libs level is not so flattering....

In a perfect universe, Fat Teddy will live until this date in 2009, and then, in a demonstration of God's infinite sense of humor, he will find himself trapped in a car underwater, unable to escape, and he will suffocate and drown EXACTLY the way Mary Jo did. I think a better way for the fat slob would be to tie a really good one on at the bar, drive home, pass out and suffocate on his puke.

Yeah isn't it remarkable though? I know the Kennedys' own half of the world, but they had self-driven automobies over thirty years ago.........pretty amazing I'd say.
What's that phrase that's been circulating around the web the last few years? "The Kennedys' have killed more people with automobiles and airplanes than I ever have with firearms".

What must it have been like for her? She is trapped underwater in an air pocket. Ted is gone. Is he going for help?
You can bet that, if it were the other way around, Mary Jo would have done everything possible to save him and would have gotten help immediately. She would not have waited 10 hours and tried to cover up a crime.
