The GOP, for all its foibles, wouldn't tolerate an POS like this guy in the ranks.

Maybe not...they would much rather tolerate lefties like John McCain, Lindsay Graham, Arnold, Guliani, Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), Andrew Sullivvan.....

HOW DARE anyone criticize the Isreali lobby & foreign aid being sent there (or to ANY nation, for that matter?)! No way...even the slightest criticism is a racist thing to do, & never mind what the Founders said about "foreign entanglements".

You're kidding, right? There is nothing "slight" about that author's criticism, except perhaps his stature.

It's disturbing that you have a problem with Giuliani, of all people.

Guliani's a Lefty thru & thru...yes, he may be a great leader, & he showed a lot of class during the 9/11 episode (especially when he turned down the $ offered to him by the Saudi millionaire who blamed 9/11 for our support of Israel--GREAT JOB, RUDY!); yes, he was terrific @ lowering the crime rate in NYC (or so I have heard, anyway)--but he's no conservative, he has little respect for limited government & family values (remember when he moved in w/ a homo couple after splitting up w/ his wife?). I think it's despicable that he would become a serious contender for the GOP Presidential election in '08.

You should have stopped writing right there. Rudy isn't my first, or even second choice for a presidential candidate, but that doesn't stop me from respecting the hell out of the man.

Heck, I even respect Ed Koch more then I ever thought I would, since he came out swinging against the appeasers in 2004.

Me and Ed Koch probably agree on the next to nothing else, but the one thing is the important thing.

That sort of gets lost in these "who is the more orthodox conservative" pissing contests.

"A vote for any other party is a vote for the democrats. Plain and simple."

Not true. A Conservative Republican vote for the Constitution Party takes one vote from the GOP column. A Conservative Republican vote for the democrats takes two votes from the GOP column. You must be using that "fuzzy" math.

What Columbus broom closet is this "meeting" going to be held in? Or did all five of them opt for a telephone booth rental this time around?

Hey, quick & easy access to the great outdoors has it's advantages...

...(snicker)...

anything but gold & silver coin in payment of debts.

The gold standard.

Oh joy.

Let's revisit the 1930s.

Regardless of what we WISH the federal government would do, the Constitution is quite specific on what it MUST do re: the paper vs. gold money supply--paper money is illegal, it's as simple as that.

There are several Dims that I have a smattering of respect for: my own Sen. Mark Pryor (AR), former Sen. Zell Miller (GA), former Rep. Tim Penny (MN), & current Rep. Harold Ford (TN), & Major Bob Bevelacqua & Alan Colmes from FOX News. I'd never vote for them, but @ least they r not the raving, angry socialist lunatics that dominate the Dim Party Elites....they are quite respectful towards others & can tolerate those w/ different views w/o insulting them, IMO.

Didn't we try this experiment with Ross Perot? The result...Bill Clinton elected!

This 'experiment' was almost a success. Just one failure shouldn't give cause to accept a defeatist attitude. If anything, it showed that the monopoly can be broken.

Our Constitution requires 3 branches of government with one having two chambers. Can someone be so kind to point out to me where it requires two, mush less any political parties?

Do a search for my posts. I have explained it about one hundred times.

Or, I guess you could just wait and see what the next Dem president does with it. I think that would take your blinders off pretty effectively.

So in other words, you want me to do the work to back up your post.

No, I've already explained it on this board multiple times. These threads start, someone says "what section violates the Bill of Rights," I point out several sections and explain each one, and they are unable to refute, so the result is silence. Then I see the same Bushbot on another thread arguing the same thing. Over and over and over again.

If the Constitution party had the slightest possibility of winning in any election, I would agree with you all. Because it doesn't have a chance in H*LL, I will continue voting Republican until we get enough of a majority to turn out the RINO'S. Why, because I NEVER, again, want the democrats to hold the Presidency and the Congress.

Methinks it would be WONDERFUL if the GOP was driven to 3rd Party status while the Constitution Party held the majority in both Houses of Congress--the Dims would go bezerk (& so would the neocons)!!!

Nice dream, it isn't going to happen.

So you would rather vote AGAINST someone than for someone? Once people start voting principle over politics things will start to change in this country, until that day, it will take a very long time to change the status quo. I dont necessarily agree with everything in the CP's platform, but you know what, they want to do what is best for the American people. You can have a great platform and political ideology on paper but if you dont follow through with it, it's worthless. Take a look at the Republican party's. Government has grown and we are still getting sold down the river. Until people like yourself, whose intentions I'm sure are good but slightly misguided, things wont change. The republican party wouldnt be so bad if they would actually let some people with truly conservative principles run for office but you know how it goes; they say what needs to be said and once elected, screw us into the ground. That is why I've had enough with them, and any true conservative republican doesnt stand a cold chance in hell getting pushed into the spotlight for the next presidential election.

I understand your position and respect your resolve.

I just do not agree with the premise that being a member of a particular "party" makes one candidate more worthwhile than another.

It has been said that character can be defined as doing the right thing, even when no one is looking.

Speaking only for myself, I recall this bit of wisdom every time I enter the voting booth.
