Cheney's Chief of Staff Was Another Source for Cooper on Valerie Plame Story By Pete Yost Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - Vice President Dick Cheney's top aide was among the sources for a Time magazine reporter's story about the identity of a CIA officer, the reporter said Sunday.

Until last week, the White House had insisted for nearly two years that vice presidential chief of staff Lewis Libby and presidential adviser Karl Rove were not involved in the leaks of CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity.

The White House refused last week to repeat those assertions when it was revealed that Rove had told Time reporter Matt Cooper that the wife of Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson apparently works at the CIA and that she had authorized his trip to Africa. The CIA dispatched Wilson to check out a report that the government of Niger had sold yellowcake uranium to Iraq for nuclear weapons.

Cooper said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that he spoke to Libby after first learning about Wilson's wife from Rove.

According to Cooper, Libby and Rove were among the government officials referred to in Cooper's subsequent Time story that said Wilson's wife was a CIA official and that she was involved in sending her husband on a trip to Africa.

Cooper's article was headlined, "A War on Wilson?"

"you notice, how no one in the MSM or anyone with the DNC talking points on this - ever mentions Miller. Not a word."
oh well... If they mentioned Miller, it's the end of the story. How did Judith Miller get anything to do with KR or Libby? NONE.

"You notice, how no one in the MSM or anyone with the DNC talking points on this - ever mentions Miller. Not a word."

They are afraid that we wiil do the simple math and find out.

#1. They shout and scream that Karl Rove is the leaker.

Then if they"

#2. Remind us that Judith Miller is in jail because she will reveal her source, the leaker.

#3. We will do the math and start laughing at them. No way would Miller go to jail to protect Rove, Cheney, GW or any republican.

Cooper is a lying piece of crap. First of all he said he would not testify because his source did not give him permission to reveal the source of his article naming the CIA agent.. (Remember Rove gave the authority over 2 years prior) Then this piece of junk announced that his source just recently gave permission to reveal. What's up Cooper????? You screwed up. I am totally convinced most Democrats are screwed up.

This is a really important point! Rove released Cooper, Miller, and every other reporter he may have spoken to OVER A YEAR AGO. So why has no one "questioned the timing" of the leak of Cooper's email or his finally caving in to Fitzgerald and testifying? It's OBVIOUS he was not about to go to jail for refusing to talk about Karl Rove! Are we supposed to believe anything this liar and fabricator says he told the grand jury? We know Sid Blumenthal lied about what he told the Ken Starr grand jury, and he and Mandy Grunwald are pals. This crap is right out of the Clinton playbook.

I read the online Time summary of the story. Cooper essentially confirmed his own e-mail and Rove's reported grand jury testimony. In particular, Rove didn't identify Plame by name and said only that she apparently worked for the CIA on WMD issues. I didn't read the full story because I don't subscribe, and wouldn't subscribe, to that leftist rag.

So, everything Cooper says now, in public, is to be accepted as the "God's Honest Truth"

A writer creating a story he then personally cashes in on

Next week's prediction: Rove may have paid $10 to have leaves raked in 1970, did not file Social Security paperwork on neighborhood kid.

Cooper's article was headlined, "A War on Wilson?"

Not enough attention is being paid to the fact that Cooper willfully and knowingly misrepresented a factual rebuttal of some of Wilson's claims as being a "war" or "attack" on Wilson. It's not surprising, though... The standard Democrat response when Republicans use the Dem's own words to discredit them is to claim that they are being "smeared" (see David Corn's blog for yet another example). In the eyes of the Dems and much of the media, presenting the truth is equivalent to spreading a vicious smear.

It can not be a coincidence that Cooper's spin was indistinguishable from the Dem's talking point that the White House 'outed' Plame to retaliate against Wilson, even though that explanation never made any sense to anybody who applied even rudimentary critical thinking skills to the evidence that was in plain view at the time.

You're ignoring the TIME exclusive on Rove's "undisclosed" meeting with representatives from the planet Bliggdagg IV. That's gonna blow this thing wide open!

"Until last week, the White House had insisted for nearly two years that vice presidential chief of staff Lewis Libby and presidential adviser Karl Rove were not involved in the leaks of CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity."

And they weren't. They (stupidly perhaps) repeated to reporters (who already knew) what Libby had been told by JUDITH MILLER, who would rather rot in jail than tell the truth.

It is absolutely hilarious for the AP to pretend that this is "news" that Libby was a "source." There have been articles about this for two years. And it's clear that Fitzgerald is asking most of his questions about Libby.

That's why it is so crucial he hear what Miller said to Libby in their conversation on July 6th. Libby has already told his side of the story (that Miller told him.) But Miller won't talk.

The only explanation is that Miller refuses to tell the truth: that she told Libby. And she is pretending that it is to protect her source of the information (re Plame). But it is really to protect the media's jihad against Bush.

A statement issued by NBC at the time suggests that Mr. Libby had told Mr. Fitzgerald that he had heard about Ms. Wilson from Mr. Russert.

I seem to recall that when this all broke that Russert stated on television that he knew that Plame worked for the CIA, and that it was known around Washington. There were also some comments on Special Report by one or more members of the panel at the time (or Brit himself) that they had known too.

I have been racking what brains I have, for days now...

Because there HAS to be "someone of importance" that is directing all of this...

Why would 44 Senators, who supposedly are politic savvy, rush to the Senate floor, before the results of the investigation are even known, to submit a law to get rid of Karl Rove???

And, if all of this is TRUE, that the dems say---why didn't they make a HUGH deal of it right before the election last year?

I just think there are too many ties between Cooper and Hillary, and Hillary and POWER that directs the Schumers and Reids to make jacka$$es of themselves over this!

I'm not even going to comment on the rumors that Rove has the keys to the secret vault at Area 51, which contains alien bodies only as a diversion from the real secret--Coke's Secret Ingredient, and the Colonel's Secret Recipe.

I said I'm not going to comment! Can't you read????

It won't go away at least until the grand jury decides to indict or not.
