This stupid story has gotten absurd. Wilson's wife arranged a junket for him to go to Africa so he could drink "sweet mint tea" and come back to write "Bush lied" in the New York Times. Nobody in the Bush administration broke the law; instead, the most they did was reveal that Wilson's trip was a boondoggle. Neither Karl Rove or Scooter Libby knew that Valerie Plame was under cover, if she was.
And guess who Scooter's source was!!!!
Tim Russert!!!!
agree.
Truly, what goes around comes around! And it seems the Wilsons were getting around.....
Serious? or just an opinion.
"OK, maybe that's not true. But how about this?

Which is exactly what they are pushing. If Rove is the source, then Miller is in jail because she didn't want to disclose him as her source.
If anyone believes that, I have several bridges in NYC and the San Francisco area to sell them.
I haven't followed this closely. A scandle raised by democrats has about a one in ten gazillion chance of being valid, so why bother. After it's been around long enough, you do have to jump in and at least find out what the charges are. Once you do that, just like all the others you've looked into, they evaporate.
It is interesting to find that Russert would be involved in this, although it shouldn't surprise any of us.
Do the democrats have any valid issues these days? I can't come up with one.
Thanks for the post.
Yes, I agree, but evidently some of the brain dead DUmmies think otherwise. There was whole thread, last week about how sexy they thought Wilson was. The woman who started the thread, stated that she wanted to have his baby!
Serious.
Mr. Russert's testimony last August provides intriguing clues. A statement issued by NBC at the time suggests that Mr. Libby had told Mr. Fitzgerald that he had heard about Ms. Wilson from Mr. Russert.

true. but Rove's lawyer made a tactical error there - when Cooper's lawyer asked him to "re-confirm" the release - he should have hung up on him. there was no need to re-confirm, the original authority was in place. Cooper just wanted a talking point for the day of his testimony, so he could grandstand at a microphone and say "my source, Karl Rove, has just granted me a release". Rove's lawyer handed it to him on a silver platter.
you notice, how no one in the MSM or anyone with the DNC talking points on this - ever mentions Miller. Not a word.
David Corn is the leaker:

That's David Corn aka Cornolio aka The Bunghole...
$inator Chuckie needs to be investigated re his relationships with Plame/Wilson before their lame a$$ed sham story broke, during that hot summer and what is happening now.
Rush has been all over $inator Chuckie in the Plame/Blame game, and it is a safe bet that $inator Chuckie is up to his lying mouth in this mess.
"The White House refused last week to repeat those assertions when it was revealed that Rove had told Time reporter Matt Cooper that the wife of Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson apparently works at the CIA and that she had authorized his trip to Africa."
2 major intentional misstatements here. Megaspin!
1) The White House didn't refuse to repeat the assertions - they said that they didn't want to discuss it while a grand jury investigation is going on, which is the proper thing to do.
The dems are complaining that Rove is evil for leaking this info which was not secret and are demanding that they discuss things which right now are under seal... even though Judith Miller won't testify and Rove did 3x. Just like they made Deep Throat into a hero for being an FBI official who leaked secret grand jury information illegally.
2) "when it was revealed that Rove had told Time reporter Matt Cooper that the wife of Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson apparently works at the CIA and that she had authorized his trip to Africa." There is a lot implied here, but it ain't so - Rove never mentioned her name. Novak called the CIA and they didn't mind if she published it. The NY Times amicus brief for Miller says no crime was committed. The purpose of this sentence is only to defame Rove with half-truths.
This is even more shameful for the MSM than the fake 60 Minutes docs were.
So the media people can gossip, then "out" government officials who repeat their own words?
That lame Chuckie/Joe press conference the other day reminded me of that contrived one in 2000 when Daschle and Whatshisname FLEW down to Florida so that they could be filmed on the phones talking to Algore who was IN Florida!
