BRITISH police are considering the possibility that the four key suspects in last week's London attacks may have been tricked into setting off their bombs, a newspaper has reported.
"We do not have hard evidence that the men were suicide bombers," a Scotland Yard spokesman told The Sunday Telegraph. "It is possible that they did not intend to die." According to the paper, one police hypothesis is that the bombers were tricked by a "master" who told them they would have time to escape - when in fact the devices were set to go off immediately.
"The bombers' masters might have thought that they couldn't risk the four men being caught and spilling everything to British interrogators," an unnamed security official told the Telegraph.
Lending weight to the theory is the fact that all four men had paid up their parking tickets before boarding a train at Luton for King's Cross, and that they all bought return tickets to the capital.
Moreover, the paper said, the men were carrying their explosives inside rucksacks, as opposed to strapped to their bodies as is common practice among suicide bombers.
None were reported to have cried "Allah Akbar" (God is Greatest) before setting off their charge - something which most Middle Eastern suicide bombers do.
The bus bomber. He may have been looking for the connection between the trigger and the timer, to satisfy himself that he would have time to get away. He may have been suspicious of the location of the tube blasts, i.e., they didn't fit the training plan, but suggested premature detonation.
Muslim men have been known to enjoy a good buggering...
So they didn't wear vests. Big deal. Four guys wearing
backpacks are a lot less suspicious. Plus, the size of the
bombs would have made vests impractical.
Paying their tickets means nothing. They could have done that
simply because they did not wish their families
to be saddled with the debt. Round-trip tickets? Terrorists
have proven that they are very careful planners and do little
to raise suspicion. Buying round-trip tickets
would have raised less eyebrows than buying one-way. Not yelling
the terrorists catch-phrase? Maybe they just didn't want the chance
of someone recognizing their intent and stopping them before they went boom. Who knows?
Why are we supposed to care? Just because they wanted to kill us and not themselves? Boo hoo. Poor little wookies.
This makes sense. I was having a hard time believing Al Queda could find four British citizens, and second generation Brits at that, willing to commit suicide for Islamic Jihad. Its beginning to look like the terrorists were told the plan was the same as in Madrid: they were told to arm the timers and then leave the bombs on the trains when they got off, but apparently all four bombs detonated the instant the timers were armed. This was either planned to make it appear that Al Qeeda could enlist suicide bombers anywhere in the world, or it was the result of some very sloppy bomb construction.
This country isn't conducive to THEIR religion and I find THEIR religion hazardous to my health.
BTW heavy sarcasm seems to have gone over your head...
you listen to savage? snicker, giggle
Wait a second...didn't we read an article yesterday that stated one of these monsters went by his Uncle's house to say goodbye???
"This is total idiocy. These were Islamic fascist murderers. Why would the UK attempt to call them anything else but homicide terrorist bombers."
Nobody is doing that. The question is simply whether they knew the bombs were going to take them out as well. Working out what happened, in what order and for what reasons is surely a relevant part of the police enquiry and would help to answer further questions, like why these guys left further bombs in their car at the station that they had bought a return ticket to get back to.
Well, it took awhile but, the British apologists have finally come out of the woodwork.
I guess the dust has settled in London, now, and it is safe for their MSM to begin transforming mass murderers into mindless dupes.
Supposedly, some of the 911 hijackers were unaware of the true mission goal, as well. BIG DEAL!!! They were still engaged in terrorist activities and should be regarded as terrorists and murderers, not dupes.
Could be true, and I agree they were out to kill regardless of the intent to also kill themselves.
My guess is the point of this attack (and a major component in the shock caused by the knowledges of the nationality of the bombers) was that al Quida can recruit suicide bombers from anywhere. If they were not true suicides, and it's as you suggest just a case of someone duping the young and impressionable into doing something stupid, it shows a weakness that was not intended.
Duping the young and impressionable has been going on for as long as humanity itself and is not a major sign of strength
I like how the media says they can't be suicide bombers if they don't scream Allah Akbar. What rules do these sickos follow, anyway??
If true, it just changes their description from "killers" to "stupid killers".
I wonder if all the other jihadis that blew themselves up on purpose laugh at the jihadis that were "duped" when they reach Islami where-ever it is they go when they die.
IOW, they wanted to be homocide bombers and ended up being suicide bombers.
Money back guarantee if not completely satisfied... or if he lives.
give me a fr&^kin break
No the ones who have been dupped are the US LIBS! the bombers are either 100% stupid or this is lib coverup(pc)
