This article has many words, but says nothing. A rehash. The media is really trying to keep this thing alive. It is interesting that if they can not get the source(s) for the revealing an agent they will try the leaking classified info approach.

So by all rights then, when Kerry leaked the agent's name in a Senate hearing, he can be charged with a felony for saying that person's name??????

If so, what's taking so long???

"this isn't just about the Facts,"

As it never is with the Dems. Facts, schmacts. Just tell us what we REALLY "know."

"This article has many word, but says nothing.." its called BSing to make an A on the essay. On the surface it looks lengthy and intelligent but the words are crapola.

Fineman is on the pipe. He was on Imus late last week and settled into one of his long explanations where he starts mumbling and his voice goes up half an octave. At the end, Imus told him "You got nothing."

Exactly right. This is lots of verbiage saying nothing just to have another story appear.

Someone needs to ask Fineman if he gets paid by the word or by the concept. Big difference here. Either he can now retire a rich man or needs to write this article off as a charitable donation of his time to the Church of the Liberalis.

Another salvo from Newsweak aboard the S.S. Revenge

I continue to be absolutely amazed by Lefty's complete lack of interest in the identity of Judith Miller's source. After all, we're talking about compromised national security here, right? Or is this all about politics, and Lefty is hoping to make enough noise that the noise becomes the story?

Ok OK! I have some questions.
1: Where did the laptops go when they were stolen from the State Department during Bubba's reign.

2: Who took Top Secret documents from a desk in in the State Department?

3: What were the documents that Sandy Burgler stuffed in his pants, socks and underwear? (Honestly would ANYONE want to touch those crammed into the last article of clothing?? Ewwwwwwuuuuu!)Oh.. and do you recall this much outrage when we found out that he, ummmm... accidently... ummm.. absent-mindly stuffed them here and there three times or so?

3: Who took hard drives from Sandia National Lab during, after or before the huge fire, did we ever find them? I don't THINK so!)

4: Was there this much outrage when Linda Tripp had her records released? Nah.. She was a TRAITOR! She dissed her FRIEND! Don't we all cover for our FRIEND?

Oh well, I could go on and on, but why bother. This all happened with a Democrat administration and they are sacred entities. We can't question THEM!

BAH!

This article says plenty in its first paragraph. Fineman admits that Facts are unimportant. Those out to get Rove are doing so because they believe he is an architect of Evil.Who are these peole? In reading the article which is a rehash of media allegations, it is clear those out to get Rove are, in Fineman's view, the Media. Since without the media there is no controversy.

So Howard Fineman has admitted that for the media Facts are less important than destroying an enemy, and are to be ignored or dissembled if they exonerate the enemy of wrong doing.Howard Fineman has just admitted what most Freepers know. The MSM is at war with this President, consders him and his policies Evil, and seeks to destroy his Presidency. In one paragraph Howard Fineman has told the Truth.

There may be 2 or 3 paragraphs in this long and winding diatribe that don't qualify as touchy feely psycho babble. I had no idea Howard Fineman was an armchair psychiatrist.

Apparently, not even a terrorist attack will keep the MSM from locking its jaws around the scrawny leg of a chicken-ass non-story that was gnawed to the bone a year ago!

IMHO, this whole sordid affair has been put forward by the RATS so they can "get" Rove and, by association, President Bush.

FWIW, for the last week or so I have been on a driving trip through the northeastern part of the country. As an experiment, when the opportunity presents itself, I have engaged people in conversation and eventually asked them their thoughts on this. Obviously, this is not scientific. But so far, exactly zero folks have any more than the slightest information about this. And those that have had knowledge has passed it off to "political games."

I visited Massachusetts, home to many liberals, where I played this game extra hard. Only around the suburbs of Boston did I find anyone that had more than a passing interest in this story.

Given this, I wonder what the RATS game is? Perhaps they are following the theory that if you throw enough darts eventually you'll hit the bullseye?

Personally, I'd prefer they stick to business. This country has plenty enough problems that need to be solved without coming up with these "amuse the public" schemes.

If I might digress a little, why do we need these games? It seems to me this phenomenon started with the O.J. trial. Scott Peterson, Robert Blake, Wacko Jacko (twice!), it just goes on and on. Do we need this "entertainment?" If so, why? We didn't need it 15 years ago. Why now?

Perhaps it has been brought on by the many 24/7 cable "news" outlets?

I guess any time now, Dan Rather will show up with forged documents "proving" Rove is guilty.

But then Wilson went public."

Wilson went public with classified material according to Fineman?

Could minor Ambassador Joe Wilson himself have been the source in blowing his own Wife's cover?

It is distinctly possible, (though it may be unlikely that Joe Wilson himself directly was NY Times Judith Miller's source), since Joe Wilson himself evidently routinely bragged openly to strangers about her CIA employment, prior to such "cover" being "blown" in the press.

Here's an example of Joe's apparently routine and open bragging about Valerie being a "CIA agent," which became known directly to me over a year ago:

He certainly bragged about it per a famous and highly reliable source's (named below) account of his own face-to-face encounter with Amb. Joe Wilson prior to Valerie Plame's "outing" as a CIA agent/employee.

Based upon a personal conversation (we were in a small group eating; it was NOT an "off the record") I had with eminent historian Victor Davis Hanson (we were at a luncheon table together during a trip to Europe), it appeared entirely possible that Joe Wilson himself was the (or one source, if not the original one) possible source in revealing his own wife's status as a CIA agent or employee.

Victor Davis Hanson (Wilson presumably knew Victor Davis Hanson wrote regularly for NRO (National Review Online), had done OpEds for the Wall street Journal, and other publications, and had his own Website with a widespread following) said he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were both in the same "Green Room" before a televised debate-discussion on Iraq, etc. and Joe first warned the TV make-up person not to get powder on his $14,000 Rolex watch, then he bragged to Victor about several things (possessions and trips to Aspen, etc.), like his expensive car (I think it was a Mercedes), and then bragged about his beautiful wife who, Joe Wilson said (braggingly) was a CIA operative.

I asked Victor Davis Hanson Why he didn't write up this account.(?) He replied that Joe Wilson would probably simply deny it, since only he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were in the Green Room together before the broadcast.

However, it is now easy to surmise that Joe Wilson is a crass, materialistic, self-promoting, vain, egotistical, bragaddocio-opportunist, so this account is perfectly consistent with Valerie Plame's TWO photo shoots in Vanity Fair. (Or was it Vogue? No, probably too crass for Vogue, n'est pas?)
