Karl Rove had a secret.
In public, he was masterminding President Bush's reelection and brushing off suggestions he had played any part in an unfolding drama: the unmasking of CIA operative Valerie Plame. In private, the senior White House adviser was meeting, on five occasions, with federal prosecutors to tell what he knew about the matter.
The story he would tell prosecutors did not seem to square with the White House's denial that it had played any role in one of the most famous leaks since Watergate. (snip) The more Wilson pushed, the more the White House was determined to push back against a man they regarded as an irresponsible provocateur. (snip) Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, said he can say "categorically" that Rove did not obtain any information about Plame from any confidential source, such as a classified document. A lawyer familiar with Rove's testimony hedged a bit on who precisely told Rove about Plame, saying it may have come secondhand from another aide, as well as from Novak. (snip) Yet much of the case remains a mystery. Did the White House leak the identity of a CIA operative? Is it a crime? Did Bush have any knowledge of it? Will Fitzgerald have spent this much time pressuring officials and reporters and not deliver an indictment? Those questions should be answered soon, as the grand jury's term is set to expire in October.

The LSM just CAN'T let go of this bogus non-story.
And they wonder why nobody trusts them anymore?
The Grand Jury can be continued until hell freezes over or the next election, whichever comes first. I believe the plan is to keep this percolating for as long as the MSM can get any mileage out of it then dump it in time to move on to the next smear.
What part of a reporter to Rove do these IDIOTS not understand?
Sounds like the WP is shipping around a script to Hollywood.
grrr
reporter to = reporter told
The reporter to Rove part.
Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen: Serious contenders for the coveted Post Drama Queen Award.
I would think they would be getting tired of attacking Rove now. Rove had nothing to do with leak. But we do have some guilty parties. Looks like some Democrats are in hot water.
Jessica Simpson says chicken salad CAN be made out of chicken excrement...
I just left the Frontpage Magazine site that I also read--and David Horowitz has a commentary about this, and his theory is that this was planned by Plame and Wilson,
in order to discredit Bush's plans to go to war with Iraq, and they have been the ones that basically started the whole, anti-war, illegal war rantings all over the world.
He seems to indicate that what SHOULD happen if all of the evidence is presented is indictments of Plame and Wilson for treason.
The poor dears are the subject of ridicule.
This is even worse than when Rather went down in flames, since they were all front and center pushing it. Plus, Miller remains in jail.
So here they are, reputation further frayed, Miller not out anytime soon, administration clean, Karl triumphant...if it was a Democrat they'd get off it as fast as they could. As they did with Durbin. As it concerns them they'll keep beating the dead horse till the investigation is over, or Miller released.
They thought they were the next Woodward and Bernstein. LOL
In the absence of any legitimate evidence against the hated Rove, even the WashComPost is now reduced to assuring the faithful that Serious Questions Remain Unanswered.
Oh, puhleeze, WaPo. Get over it. This one ain't happening, and you're not returning to the glory days. Your glory days, passed you by, glory days, in the wink of a young reporter's eye, glory days, glory days.
What are the Democrats going to say when they are proven wrong once again? You can bet nobody in the Republican Party will hold their feet to the fire. Republicans have not learned how to fight dirty. They are too interested in playing the game fair. The Republican who learns to kick one of these dirty players where it hurts, will be the hero.
Keep digging, RATS.
Do these people even bother to read the newspapers, or do they just spend all their time snorting cocaine and dreaming of Watergate and Vietnam?
Snark offs Dumbledorf.
Ya know .. if there was a hint that Rove was in the wrong .. I could somewhat understand their harping
But there ISN'T even a hint and yet this IDIOTS keep trying to convience the public that Rove broke the law
SQRU.......it has a certain ring to it...
