COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Despite a lengthy record as a violent sexual predator of children, Joseph Edward Duncan III was always able to make friends who paid his bills and lobbied for his early release from prison, The Spokesman-Review reported Friday.

Duncan, 42, is jailed without bail on charges he beat three people to death in a scheme to kidnap two children for the purposes of sexual gratification.

"He is open, honest and eager to move on with his life," one such supporter, David Woelfert of Lynnwood, Wash., wrote to parole officials in 1993. "He is no threat to society whatsoever."
Woelfert loaned Duncan $3,000, paid his initial rent in a halfway house and reportedly became Duncan's lover, according to the documents.
"It is my intention to back him, support him, and help him in any way possible upon his release," Woelfert had written in 1991, shortly after meeting Duncan.

Refer them back to the research study done in Sweden (I think) that found out that it is the father who determines the child's moral compass. Mothers can nurture and love, but it's the father who sets the principles by which we live. Think about how many people you know who turned out bad because of lack of father participation in their lives and how many you know who turned out well who had good fathers. My experience with people has convinced me that the study is dead on right.
I agree but IMHO I think something far worse than a beating would be more than justified in this case. I think what the English did back in the Dark Ages would suffice. Quarter him and put his head on a stake. I can't even stand to look at this creep's picture, knowing what terrible things he did to that family in front of these children. This little girl Shasta would have been dead soon if she was not spotted. I realize that the adults were losers here in more ways than one, but certainly didn't deserve to die like that. And the poor children. It is odd to me that Martha Stewart has to wear electronic bracelet, but sexual predators are allowed to roam freely.

How did you come across that information, just curious. I read a lot about case, it seems to be very restricted. I am sure that once all the details are out, there should be a lot of heads to roll on this one.
Wacksman wanted Duncan paroled to his home where he lived with his wife and two children???
Was it Wacksman who also put up Duncan's $15,000 bond (enabling Duncan to skip town)?
The Florida authorities (such as they) should immediately investigate Wacksman. (But of course they won't.)

Exactly. Although personally, I think roaming shouldn't have been an option for this guy - he should have been dead. That's the only thing that works with sexual predators, which he obviously has been virtually since he was a child himself.
When I have read most of Free Republic, I read yahoo discussions. There are some real low lifes on there, I really don't understand how Yahoo is able to keep those boards opened unmonitored. At any rate, it was apparent that even some of the trolls were disgusted by this story. But the disgusting thing was some were not.
How long do you think Duncan would last in a Muslim country? Not long and that sounds prety good to me.

Lately I have been listening to gospel singer Donnie McClurkin, his story about being homosexually raped and then living as homosexual for several years is startling. But Praise God, he is living as a witness to people now about the truth in homosexual life style.
Shasta and Dylan's Dad needs to sue each and every person who enabled this sick freak and this includes the judge in Minnesota. For those who think I'm suggesting profit for murder of children, the Dad can put it in a college fund for Shasta and those who have been victimized by sickos like Duncan. Duncan should be hung in the public square for the world to see!

Seems like more honest lawyers - who can go on to become honest judges - are needed.
Mostly likely some fell for his lies and were decent people, but most were probably scum also. I read somewhere that he was excellent con artist. At any rate, I agree with you fully. Sexual predators should have one strike and you are out. And anyone who supports anyone who has raped a child should be held responsible also. This case is simply horrifying. No more horrifying than the Lunsford case or the many other recent cases. There are so many now it is difficult to remember then all. Just wait, I imagine in the next month there will be another girl ages 5-8 go missing.
