Bush Drops Hints on Supreme Court Choice

WASHINGTON - President Bush gave the nation several clues Saturday about the person he will nominate for a seat on the Supreme Court, except for the most important one — a name.

In his weekly radio address, Bush said his eventual nominee will be a "fair-minded individual who represents the mainstream of American law and American values."

His candidate also "will meet the highest standards of intellect, character and ability and will pledge to faithfully interpret the Constitution and laws of our country," the president said.

"Our nation deserves, and I will select, a Supreme Court justice that Americans can be proud of," he said, without revealing the name that many are anxious to hear.

Bush also discussed his recent meeting with Senate leaders of both parties to discuss the nomination and confirmation process for a replacement for Sandra Day O'Connor. The first woman to serve on the high court, O'Connor announced July 1 that she is stepping down after 24 years.

I'm sorry - but get a grip. Such thoughts are preposterous based as they are on nothing backed by the President's actions to date. Of all things he has stood in the gate to defend this nation FROM the Globalist agenda that the Demonrats fully embrace!

met·a·phor Audio pronunciation of "metaphor" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mt-fôr, -fr)
n.

1. A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in “a sea of troubles” or “All the world's a stage” (Shakespeare).
2. One thing conceived as representing another; a symbol: “Hollywood has always been an irresistible, prefabricated metaphor for the crass, the materialistic, the shallow, and the craven”.

The econ school admonition about supply and demand is clearly false in this case if the given reasons for higher prices is short supply of crude or refining capacity.

Please explain the reason for short supply in cement???

I remember being offered a similar sentiment concerning daddy Bush.

Bush is surrounded by these CFR string pullers. Perhaps that is why the GOP seems to be proping up the Clinton. The next puppet needs to be an "it takes a village" expert.

You're right. If Bush blows the SC nominees and caves to the hollow-chested Dems, as he has let us down on the border, Hillary can sail into the office waving her middle finger at half the country.

Maybe it would be good and teach the naysayers a lesson.

Thank you, no I had not. I respect Phyllis Schlaffley immensely. We have problems and this is just one. It is a huge one, I concede. But again should we give up the ship and surrender to people (Dems) who are ALREADY fully blown globalists? Phyllis Schlaffley always sounds sure alarms and for her work I am deeply grateful.

Please. He is former President GHW Bush. And I remember his years in office. Quite a contrast to the Clinton crime years during which all our military secrets were OPENLY GIVEN or SOLD to the Communist Chinese! The third partiers gave us that instead of four more years of President Bush. Ross Perot gave us the Clinton disaster. Even Phyllis Schlaffley agrees the Clinton years were disastrous for this nation!

Why do you think America is so hated by the French, the Germans, all in the EU (with the exception of some of our British friends and some from Poland and the Czech Republic)? We are hated because this President has resisted the one world Globalist measures as well as the UN garbage.

You forgot to include the Danish PM Anders Fogh Rasmussen whom W. visited a couple of week ago in the great city of Copenhagen! By the way OUR 4th. July is celebrated in Denmark (Rebild Bakker) every year!! This year more than 5,000 showed up in the sand dunes for a big celebration. When I got married over there to my lovely American wife in 1983, Vice President George Bush was the keynote speaker at the event, and to the SS's frustration his limousine got stuck in the sand dunes!!!

Please. He is former President GHW Bush. And I remember his years in office.

Then you remember him calling for propping up the UN and some new world order to the determent of American sovereignty?

Quite a contrast to the Clinton crime years during which all our military secrets were OPENLY GIVEN or SOLD to the Communist Chinese!

It is all just selling out America, not much contrast there.

Even Phyllis Schlaffley agrees the Clinton years were disastrous for this nation!

Phillis seems to think what is going on now is just as disastrous.

Would if I could, but, sadly, I can't.

Showtime soon, though, so I suppose we'll all find out directly.

Look. The UN is in existence. We are members of it. President George W. Bush has nominated the strongest UN reformer - critic he could find to go there? That should persuade some of the new world order friends of his opinion of the UN. President G.H.W. Bush did not embrace the New World Order to the extent that Hitlery and her friends do - for heaven's sake - they are card carrying globalists.

Phyllis Schaffley was on the forefront of warning this nation about the dangers of the Clinton Dems. She will do so again should the "new world order" people opt out of the coming elections.

So, you think the Conservative base is going to NOT stay home in '06 and '08 if Dubya does the party wrong by nominating someone who's a compromise with the 'Rats?

Better go think about that one, my friend.

It's not a "crock". Nothing less than the fate of the party hangs on this.

Dubya's father learned the lesson the hard way ("read my lips"). You think the Son would know better, having seen the impact of not doing what you say you're going to do.

Yes, I do think the conservatives are NOT going to stay home in 06 & 08 especially in 08 where the "witch" is warming up her broom!
You better get the new book by Ed Klein and learn what's at stake here, and what's the other options for the conservatives???
Thanks to a great deal, John O'Neils' book save us from an al-Qerry disaster presidency!!
By the way W. is not running anymore!!! And tell me when and where he has declared anything less than a Scalia/Thomas a like nominee??? And after you read his book, get another from Bill Sammon: "At Any Cost" about how alGore tried to steal the election. Then you will see clearly the dem's tactics against Karl "The Great" Rove. It's the 2000 Florida election all over again!!!!

I agree with her. They're all globalists, Bush/Clinton/Bush, and probably what comes next.
